Forgive me if this was already asked, as I've scoured the forum and found nothing specific.

Being the knucklehead that I am, I blew a fuse for the cigarette power outlet. Confirmed by pulling it out of F52 and visually checking it. I know it's a 20 amp micro, but I'm wondering what brands you all have purchased and used successfully/reliably. I've read that some here have bought variety kits as well. But didn't mention the manufacturers.

Crown makes fuses for Chrylser. OMIX is "OE-style/universal and some brands like Bussman say it's not compatible with Jeep. Just wanted to make sure I'm not making a bad choice by purchasing the next available 20amp mini fuse I find.

TLDR; What brand of fuses do you use?

If you’re concerned enough to ask, you may want to go to a dealer and buy an “OEM” one, however it’ll probably be some generic that they buy in bulk. I personally would just go to AutoZone and buy whatever they sell in the right size/amp rating.

Thanks for your weigh-in! I may just find the nearest shop and get an OMIX-ADA fuse. I called an O'Reilly and I found it funny that he suggested I try to beef up the amp...not a good idea if the wiring can't support it; Correct me if I'm wrong. LOL.

The sad part is people actually take advice from those dudes.

I ended up going to O'Reilly since it was on the way to work. I purchased Littelfuse (the only brand available) and in addition to the traditional mini-fuse, also picked up some "smart' version that "glows when it blows". I'll try it on my KJ guinea pig first.

I think Autozone carries mainly Bussman.

To answer my own question, I could be mistaken, but it looks like Mopar manufactures their own fuses as well. I also cross-checked other sites. One questionable looking shop called RockAuto confirms the 2018 JL uses Mopar fuses. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/jeep,2018,wrangler,3.6l+v6,3441645,electrical,fuse,2676

Rock Auto is a good site for factory replacement parts at a decent price actually. I trust them more than I trust 4WP.

Good to know! Their site sure could use a refresh tho—I felt like I was launched headfirst into 1995.

Yea, it's clunky, but they deliver. That site kept my old poor-runner alive for years after it should have been dead.
