Well with the CA Libtard politicians taxing the hell out of everything made we rethink getting a diesel...tho will most likely still get it.

CA Gas Tax that took affect Nov 1st:
"The measure would repeal most sections of Senate Bill 1 (2017), which increased the gas tax by $0.12 per gallon, increased the diesel fuel tax by $0.20 per gallon, increased the sales tax on diesel fuels by an additional 4 percentage points, created an annual transportation improvement fee, and created an annual zero-emission vehicles fee."

Of course I am signing petition to repeal this crap... :computerrage:

Hey, you’re the one claiming bogus orders, not me. Orders require the banks to be open which they are and always have been prior to full disclosure of details. You can only order what’s in them and immediately made available by FCA to order, not late availability features or colours that are still on hold, even if they are already announced months ahead of time (like the Special Editions, etc), so none of that infers bogus orders.

Perhaps you should read FCA’s official statements on the matter, and calm the FAQ down until the Launch, instead of acting like a petulant child because you want to open your Christmas presents on Thanksgiving! :stop:
Mr. Ape, again, PLEASE READ MY POSTS CAREFULLY; I never said the new JLU orders were bogus. I understand very well the FCA's process in leading people on all in the name of marketing. This serves no purpose other then to tease people and keep them overly interested in their products; which I will say once more; is very immature and childish. If you don't like my classification of this; so be it. But please, don't assume I don't know what I'm talking about. It's just an opinion based on careful observation, just like the multitude of text you've written and is scattered throughout this website.

You should also move away from offending people, online, through these forums by calling them names. People that call other people names and think they know what other people are all about; points to a very insecure personality. So calling me ignorant and petulant will not win you any points on this forum that you seem so desperately to acquire.

I’m looking forward to new info on the Hurricane. I’m hoping for key words like understressed, oversized turbo for the application, detuned in Wrangler and makes a ton more power in XXX application. Of course, must be paired with a manual option! :D

Far from it; just stating my opinion on this whole issue. It's called freedom of speech, a constitutional right.

People that try to offend other people by calling them names and assuming what they're are thinking have a problem.

Yes, you brought the concept of bogus orders into the thread as an attempt to counter that it is not officially launched yet, and as if orders and an official launch/reveal were tied at the hip.

which I will say once more; is very immature and childish.
No, that would again be you moaning about FCA/Jeep’s process that is neither new, nor uncommon in the industry, and which obviously has worked to great success with this particular vehicle.

So if you’re going to get all worked up about it, then yes, it’s your lack of knowledge of the process and the industry that makes you think this is unusual or unacceptable on FCA’s part.

You throwing a fit and whining about it is, in and of itself, “very immature and childish”, precisely like a little kid questioning the choice of an adult/parent not to let them open their presents early because the adult wrapped their present so nicely/temptingly and made such a big deal about Xmas.

That’s still a pretty cramped engine bay.

Was hoping that they would be able to make it a little more open from the early test bed to allow for better cooling within the engine compartment.

From what I gather the diesel is being tested and modified to make sure it’s not a part of any of the recent diesel scandal madness.
Also VM has to plan/modify for the added output capacity....

I am planning on replacing my '13 JKU in 2 years and have always wanted a diesel something so..... Eco-diesel Rubicon (Probably JT vice JLU). I am neither rich nor well-off but I will be able to afford a $50-60K Jeep.

BTW - I do love the 3.6 Pentastar, it is a great engine! However, I believe more TQ and increased MPG would make a much better Jeep.

Can you find or know of a non-turbo V6 currently produced anywhere that exceeds 260 lbs/ft torque, at a usable low rpm? The Pentastar’s valve train has been redesigned with variable valve timing creating improved torque at lower rpm’s. By the way you don’t make Ward’s 10 best engine award 3 years in a row for 1990’s technology.
Take your pick. GM's 3.6. Ford's 3.3. Toyota's 4.0. Nissan's 4.0. ALL of them.

The Pentastar is to be pitied.

So it is interesting to see all the criticism of an engine that has had versions on the Wards list 4 times. Folks, this is a great engine, and I'm happy to finally get one into my garage. I've driven it in several Chrysler vehicles, and was impressed with it every time. I'm confident it will get me far off the beaten path and back in one piece with no drama.
No, what's interesting is that an engine that debuted with head failures, casting sludge issues, and the lowest torque in the segment actually made it onto the list. Talk about a joke. It removes all credibility from Ward's list.

Funny, EVERY Jeeper I have EVER encountered with this engine, with whom Ive spoken, LOVES and raves about this engine. That's dozens of owners and friends, from Moab to the East Coast, and all in between, in Jeep clubs, and at Jeep rallys. Not 1 negative comment. Heavily modded Jeeps included. I've come across two with about 300,000 miles, both said they were trouble free. I've heard more complaints about the venerable Chevy 350 than this engine.

Rant on and exercise your prerogative to choose a different powerplant. I've already ordered mine, and await it with great anticipation. Fortunately, they will offer an unproven 2.0 turbo that you can enjoy.

I am sure that not every Jeep owner ever has been in love with it. I think that over time it has become more reliable. Do I wish fiat was changing it to something more reliable, yes. Am I still going to buy one, yes.

I had 2012 JKU. I was gun shy about the head blowing up (cue sarcasm). What impressed me was Chrysler stepping up and extending the warranty for said head to 150k miles and 10 years. Still, I traded it for my current Tacoma. I preferred the Pentastar to Toyota's 3.6. I hope to be back "jeep wavin" this time next year.
