I'm a brand new Jeep owner and I can't wait for my first trail. Someone asked me a question as a newbie I feel that I am ill-equipped to answer so please help me.
The question - "So you are going to drive 60 miles on perfectly paved roads to go off-road for 7 miles in a muddy area with no real scenic view of sorts. Why would you do that and spend hours cleaning your vehicle afterwards?"
For people who went on their 1st offroading trip, what got you hooked?
I didnt see you were in GA.Makes total sense. I have never really explored GA but have done hiking and backpacking in numerous touristy locations. Hope to explore and learn about my own backyard. Thank you.
good ol Hidden Falls.
Why all the pictures? Because they show a better story than I ever could with just words.
What does it feel like? You'll see beauty, even if you aren't anticipating it. You'll often meet some amazing groups of people, and spending time doing things with them will make the adventure that much more memorable. Finally, you'll do some things that you didn't realize you could do, or that your Jeep could do, and you'll have both an adrenaline rush, as well as a sense of satisfaction from doing those things.
My added bonus is that my family enjoys it, and it's something we all look forward to.
IMHO their description of what you're doing is inaccurate. For starters, I love the woods, so the area is far from having "no real scenic view". They may be right that you're not on a beach with a sunset or a mountain top overlooking a valley of autumn leaves. Although to be fair the Jeep can absolutely take you to both of those places. Even though every ride isn't to that view, the woods, or even a rock canyon for those out west, can be just as beautiful..... Came here to make sure someone posted this, left satisfied.Like warm apple pie
Wait a second. My Jeep can get stuck?Now...go down the same road and get stuck in the same ditch in a Jeep. Try getting out.....you'll soon feel the "Oh Shit" feeling and then drive out of the ditch..."Oh shit" feeling is now gone.
Ellijay is less than an hour north of me.I didnt see you were in GA.
Last year, pre-jeep, I visited a town called Ellijay. AWESOME little town and lots of neat little places to explore! Im dying to go back and take my Jeep. Im betting I would find a lot of fun places that I couldnt with the Highlander I was in.
Lol, because my wife has wanted a Jeep since watching Daisy Duke 30+ years ago.My thought is: Why get a Wrangler if you’re not going to go off-roading?
