I though GORILLA glass was tough(er). Guess not. Took a rock to windshield. Now off to the dealer for my supposed freebie replacement.
My windshield with factory glass (2024 Sport S, whatever comes with that) chipped and cracked across my windshield at 3000 miles. I replaced it with the cheapest the local auto glass guy had (I'll never get a quote from Safelite again after they emailed me almost daily since, but that's another story). The second cheap windshield took a dime sized chip at 5000 miles, but no crack. In fact, I see the chip but can't feel it at all! It's like somehow the chip is between two layers of good glass. I've never seen anything like it.

so I’m such a noob… I don’t even have my jeep ordered yet bcs we have to wait until next month after we sell our HD truck… anywho… love your new thread topic and I am looking forward to learning from it!! Now… for my noob question of the night…. Where do you apply threadlocker that it remains to be seen after application?? I’ve used some before on non-auto projects, but it was never “exposed” after application for anyone to see what color it was….
Each color has it's own use case. Check the labels and you'll see.

It's not intended to be seen after use.

If there is any residual threadlocker evident on exposed threads, usually there's no harm in that.

Rather, and as mentioned, separate colors are used to indicate the retention strength of each threadlocker. E.g., Red is high strength and usually requires high heat to accommodate removal of the treated fastener(s). Blue is an all-purpose Go-To that allows fastener removal with regular hand tools.

Easy peasy to loose tools and stuff working on simple stuff. Here is my list for the week.

Fuse - pulled a fuse from spare holder. It put up a fight and eventually released and slipped through my fingers and tumbled down behind the fuse box.
Odds are 50:50 With a difficulty score of recovery 11

Jeep T30 tool - dropped windshield to clean and inspect sealing from unknown years of desert trails from previous owner. Tool slipped out of socket and dropped hard into brake release handle gape of rubber boot. Odds are 10000:1 Difficulty score of recovery 5

Wiper arm nut - During the removal of plastic cowel cover a wiper arm nut fell into the main cowel. I had placed them on each wiper post, but one had been rubbed against, just enough to unscrew a turn and drop down to who knows where. My fault on not securing it enough on the threads. So odds are not calculated. Difficultly score on recovery 11

Interior screw - Pulled 8.4 head unit for a cleaning and reseat internal and external connections. During install screw fell into front open area between 8.4 unit and electric window buttons. Odds are 4:1 and Difficultly on recovery 5

2nd interior screw - installing a mesh sun screen required 2 trim screws removed on overhead light console. Yep you guessed it! One fell between seat and console. Odds are 2:1 with a difficulty of recovery 7.

I do not feel so bad about myself right now. Don't worry, Karma is a bitch and we go on regular dates.

I bet my left arm... on my date, my condom will slip between the seat and console, as I remove it from wallet. As luck will have it. Ha!

That you can adjust the height of the seat belt. My jeep seat belt was digging into my neck and I randomly came across a post that said it could be adjusted, you know, for us vertically challenged people.

Simple squeeze to move it up or down.

Having a trail cam gives you a smaller center console!

(Would've liked to have known that $18 earlier...)

That I am confident as of today, that we will keep what Wranglers we have with-in the Family. Because we are not going to pay their ridiculous asking prices for new. Plus since I have learned that the Dealers do not have to honor warranty work, that was the icing on the cake.. That just lost them a sale of a 392....

What does a trail cam have to do with the center console?

And what does $18 have to do with it?

You didn’t ask me, but there has been speculation that the shallower center console and the front trail cam are somehow related. My second guess, which you also didn’t ask for, is a console organizer ($18) which fits the slightly deeper console doesn’t fit the shallower console

You got it about the $18. :)

I'd guess it's a good 1/2" to an inch smaller front-to-back, because the piece I had was never going to fit. The top opening is the same, though -- it's just the interior bottom! Maybe there are some related electronics in the area?

(Fwiw, the item I bought does/did clearly, and in bold, say it won't fit with the trail cam. I just didn't thoroughly read the info page)

I learned today that painters tape won't stick to the dash area around the ac vents, nor will gorilla tape or any tape.
