Finally managed to get her a bit dirty. Extremely impressed so far. Also introduced her to her older brother. The pops and I are planning to restore this ‘72 CJ5 over the next year. Frame looked solid so I think there’s a good foundation.

Winter weather advisory in the Tahoe area. We went to Barret lake trail and it snowed 4-6 inches. Ended up doing a little snow wheeling and snow camping.
Words can’t express how jealous I am of you. It was 100 degrees in Texas today and I’m sick of sweating my ass of at work and every time I walk outside.

Speaking of outside, today I took my jeep to a jeep show / meet up hosted by Military Jeepers!

A Jeep dealership in Savannah opened a “test track” today. They had some vendors, food, music, etc. I thought it was going to be lame, and it was a little lame but better than I thought. Met some cool Jeep guys and heckled some random people. Lol.

The test track is for new Jeep test drives and it was actually kind of fun. I put it in 4L and idled through the entire thing. Never touched the gas.

One of the people we heckled was a lady in a new Gladiator Rubicon. We were messing with her saying the track was for
Jeeps and she was in a Ram truck. She replied that it said Jeep on the front of her truck same on our jeeps. It was pretty funny but she got a little hot and decided she was going to “show us”. Got stuck twice! Super funny, and when someone asked her if he should get a Renegade to pull her out...well, he got cursed. To which we all rolled with laughter.

Then there was this other lady in a JLU sport with literally the smallest, crappiest tires I’ve ever seen on a Jeep. When it was her turn the track referee, or whatever he’s called, went over to give her some advice on how to best traverse the course. She told him she knew exactly what she was doing. And then the passenger squawked “we just got back from VA,”. Whatever the hell that meant. Off she went like a bat out of hell. Bouncing and juking and old lady titties flopping all over the place. They never had all 4 wheels on the ground at the same time, until they hit the rock pile at about 5 MPH and came to an abrupt stop when the diff slammed into a boulder. Everyone watching said “oooooh,” in unison at the sound of rock on steel and the sight of all those G forces on all those saggy titties. But she was undaunted and backed up a foot or so before jerking the tranny back into D and flooring it. “Crack!!!!” Hits the boulder again. This is the point where the peanut gallery joined in to support her gallant efforts and cries of “Go faster!” and “hit it again” erupted from the audience. And she did, two more times. It was awesome, I saw her cross member bend before my eyes. Eventually she worked up enough momentum or chipped the rock down enough to get over it. She hauled ass around the rest of the track, left through the gate and rocketed out of the park where she caught the red light directly in front of everyone. So we were obliged to laugh and point and heckle her some more. So I’d like to think those old lady’s, lacking both braziers and common sense for making my day.

We heckled a bunch of guys too, so don’t think we’re sexists or anything. One guy we heckled was the Command Sergeant Major at Parris Island. He didn’t really have a good sense of humor about it and we all STFU immediately. Lol

Here are some pics.
