Took the family up to mammoth, first time we’ve gone in summer. Lots to do there! Apparently we happened to go in the middle of “afternoon rainstorm week.”
We saw Devil’s Postpile and hiked to Rainbow Falls.
We explored the Lakes Basin above town and had a bear walk right up alongside us.
Drove up to June Lake and pretended to fish.
Drove up to East entrance of Yosemite and swam in Tenaya Lake. Temps were perfect low 70s, meanwhile 4500 ft lower in Yosemite Valley the high was 96
As we left we got a few minutes of pea sized hail! Didn’t get a pic in time though..
And in town we saw a guy hauling a pretty well built crawler..
