What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

As a follow up to post #6278…..
A week ago. 3-23-22. Took the JLURD truly off road for the first time….

I mentioned the diesel, but didn’t expand on it.

The diesel and 8-speed were truly awesome to drive off-road. Every hill and climb were effortless, as far as pedal work. Just tap the gas (diesel) and the torque would just walk it up or over whatever. (Except as noted before). No hard gas or revving required.
The downhill assist, after the learning curve, would crawl down any hill, at the speed determined by the gear. Brake pedal not needed, except to stop.

Just a marvelous combo!

Killed a goose

Took the Jeep out on the open road for the first time and a goose flew right across me. No chance to evade…I blew it up like Randy Johnson. Cleanup was nasty. I’m so mad.

My YJ still had its new car smell when an errant deer departed this vale of tears via the Jeep's steel bumper. The impact occurred on a January night, and I arrived home to discover a nice lump of frozen gore on the inside of the bumper, likely there as a result of the force of the impact.

Good times.

Let my daughter in law drive on a trail in Death Valley. My grandson whacked his head pretty hard on the inside of the Jeep when she hit a bump so we let him drive into our campsite.

Hit the Hot Springs Off Road Park again this weekend. Got caught by a little overnight rain shower while naked so used the backup tent rain canopy. Lol Fun times!

Took a road trip to Pinnacles NP and did some hiking and camping. I didn't sleep in the Jeep this time because the only site I could get had this canvas cabin. I think I probably would have been warmer and more comfortable in the Jeep.
