What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

We have to pack for different seasons also. a two or three week trip is easier for things like clothing. We don't need cloths for different seasons and different type of environments. Or a screen tent or additional tools. My wife also want to bring backpacks with additional camping gear so that we can hike away from the camper for a day or two if necessary to get to locations that are only accessible by foot. So this also means additional shoes........for her.

I have found that what is necessary for me is by NO means what is necessary for her. Just for example, she has to have running shoes, a pair of crocks, hiking shoes, a pair of sandals and water shoes. I have found there are things that we can live with out for a couple weeks, and things that we may not want to live with out for 11+ months.

Yea didn’t even think about how many different seasons/climates that will encounter! Lot of clothes/shoes for sure

Took my son and my dad up into the hills to one of NC’s ghost towns. Also one of my dad’s favorite fly fishing spots. Great day!

This was Brown Mountain Beach Rd. It follows Wilson Creek to the Mortimer campground and the small community of Edgemont. From there you can head to the Pineola/Linville area or work your way back towards the Parkway and Boone/Blowing Rock.

There’s also the Brown Mountain OHV trails. I think a couple of them are open for Jeep’s and other off-road vehicles. I haven’t been yet, but had a couple buddies who enjoyed it. I don’t think it’s too extreme.

Did some camping around Williams AZ. Weather was very all over the place. Blue sky, then raining, then back to blue sky. Really cool thunder and lighting at night.

Here is the video from my trip camping. What a great trip. It is so beautiful in Williams AZ this time of year. Crazy weather too!

I had a week to spare and always wanted to check out the west. I drove about 3650 miles in 7 days and got my first feel of "overlanding" in. Had a blast and learned a few things. Ended up sleeping in the Jeep after the 2nd night and it worked like a charm. Stayed in a hotel 2 out of 7 nights because I had driven 14+ hours and didn't feel like looking for a place to find camp. I would have liked more time.

Did Elephant Butte trail today. Couldn't believe how green the desert is, from all the rains we had the past few weeks.

Just returned from a trip down to the Cathar trail which is in the French Pyrenees.

I went with a group of four vehicles and it was great to get away and escape from the Covid madness.

Spend a few days at The Good Place... put an ice box in, the awning, the BBQ...

And then my lovely wife sprained her ankle on the first night there... thank God I had a tensor bandage but I still had to do a quick trip home to fetch the crutches and some Advil... we treated her injury as a sprain/ strain. REST, ICE, COMPRESSION and ELEVATION.... But it's still quite uncomfortable...she's off the the ER right now to make sure there's no fracture....

And here's a picture of my oldest's getting sworn into the military.... we are so proud of her.
