Getting first oil change at Greenway DCJR dealer in Orlando and so far nervous, I mentioned how many quarts their website listed when I scheduled, to my service advisor Isahi showing 6 quarts. He argued that was accurate, I told him the owners manual states 5. Isahi then went onto stating it’s 5 plus some due to filter so they round it up to 6… No it doesn’t, put 5 in because that what the manual states. Told him as an aircraft owner and mechanic, I am very anal about maintenance and want it done by the book.
I pointed out some issues with paint quality around the hinges, not being covered fully and can see primer and in some spots aluminum. It’s not exactly the easy to spot, but once seen it can’t be unseen and I am concern with eventual corrosion. He was very aware of the paint bubbling and said they will have to get permission from Chrysler to get the parts and paint match then install… Wasn’t going to argue that, I know the process is more then just that and will ultimately involve them painting a good portion of the vehicle to blend it. But at least the process will be started or at least documented. Hopefully all goes well and I only get 5 quarts.
