Shooting for wednesday/thursday!
Sweet...

As many times you have swapped front shouldn’t be more than couple hours.

The dreary, rainy day left no possibility of putting the rear bumper on, or working on the lift, so I decided to go hit the trail. I tried really hard to get this thing muddy, and I'm kind of disappointed. I got muddy water just to the bottom of the rock rails a couple times. I drove dangerously fast through miles of goopy mud on dirt roads, and this was all I managed to do. I didn't come remotely close to getting stuck either. Not even close.

I'm starting to figure out that even on stock suspension with stock tires, I can take any line through any bad section of any trail I have thus far discovered. Wildly off-camber, going out of my way to do something the hard way? No problem for this Jeep. I came damn close to rubbing, but I still had 1/16" of air between the fender flare and the tread lugs. Incredible! Installing the Rubicon takeoffs is optional, not mandatory.

The above picture doesn't really do the moment justice. I was up on a rock on the high side of the road, with the driver side dropped into a deep rut. I was teetering up there, and I was scared the thing was going to slip off the rock before I got the picture snapped.

The dog and I had a blast, though the scenery wasn't much at the top of the mountain.

I stopped in the water to take a picture, and got a chuckle out of listening to my exhaust burble under water. The deepest puddles had obvious bypasses carved out of the forest, but evidently those bypasses are not for stock JLU Willys! I didn't come anywhere close to 30" of depth, and we just had two solid days of rain, so that is about as deep as those holes are ever going to get. (I got a kick out of noting that the water was clear and undisturbed in the two worst holes. At least until I got through there anyway.)

Not depicted, but I also walked to the top of this crazy cut where someone apparently dug out some coal. There is just barely room to turn around at the top. I'm sure I could make it all the way up. I got up to 28 degrees front to back and 18 side to side, and felt fine, but I respected the giant NO TRESPASSING sign at the top, so I just backed down after getting right to the point where I was going to have to cross that sign to continue.
