Been waiting for TSB parts now for 30 days and still no positive date for arrival. Fortunately my steering is not real bad, just kind of wanders. Want the aluminum box gone.
Will be installing Dominion Hi-Lift mount and accessory bar along with jack, shovel, and axe this weekend and if time permits my GMRS radio and antenna plus fire extinguisher mount and extinguisher.
It was a good day, a new baby 2.0l sarge green was born, here she is with daddy. Ready to take on some adventures and grow up to be a strong independent Jeep.
What did I do WITH my Jeep today --- let my wife play with it.
We've had it almost a year now. She got to drive it home from the dealership and immediately named him 'Snoopy' but that's been it. She loves him but felt intimadated by all the cockpit stuff. She's not prevented from driving him, but she sticks to her boring lady-like 'Ruby' red GMC Terrain.
However once I lifted Snoopy with the 35 inchers, she's just shied away from him even more. She prefers to just ride shotgun.
We go off-roading here in CO all the time and I'm trying to convince her to give it a go. She doesn't mind that I do the driving and certainly isn't as comfortable going on the more difficult trails. But the back country mountain get-aways, she enjoys maybe even more than I. She really likes the freedom where we can now wander. There is so much more to explore in Colorado, way beyond where any mere mortals in non-Jeeps are able to go. We let Snoopy meander off-leash a lot and we're loving it.
Here at home she can drive him anytime. The keys are hanging on the cady. Still, she keeps to her Ruby. Her preferences are what they are.
Yesterday she said it's time. Now if I can only get her to put it in 4 hi. I guess what's needed is still just a little more 4 play...
I've given it the old college try, as it concerns attempting to convince my wife give the Jeep a go when the weather requires it. "One lever movement into 4 Hi and you're golden", say I.
Nope. She admits to being spoiled by her AWD Honda CR-V EX, which does everything except make her morning coffee.
Suggestions welcome. Or perhaps this isn't a hill to die on.
