Day 3 of ownership - finally got naked at 130 miles and took the JL.. mall crawling. One of the last warm days in the Chicago area, we had to take advantage even if it was only to run errands. Gonna miss that new car smell.

Went to Utah and Arizona for a couple of weeks. I got the Jeep around June 1, and this was the first time I really got the chance to use it for what it's made for. We did some moderate to low-end difficult trails around Moab and then drove the White Rim Road in Canyonlands. It can be difficult to get camping reservations along the White Rim Road, but worth the effort. There was very little traffic from other off-roaders now. It felt like we had all the trails to ourselves. The smoke from the west coast fires messed up the air a little in Utah, but in a major way at the the Grand Canyon. We drove to and camped at Point Sublime on the North Rim, but heavy smoke filled the canyon.

We put 2700 miles on the Jeep. Maybe 200 off road and the rest on the highways getting there and back home. It is more comfortable then we thought it would be. My wife's car is a Jag XJ, which is comfortable and drives great, but even she liked the Wrangler. She also got a real kick from driving it off road. Why did I wait so long to get a Wrangler?

@GeorgiaGray and I did the north half of the Tread Lightly trail in Florida. It’s a nice drive in the woods...if you want to die. Yes that’s a friggin bear.

seriously cool, only seen a few bears in the wild after 24 years as a forester. And the EDB could care less about anything. Just taking a leisurely stroll

:CWL: the funny thing is that when i go 4 wheeling in my brother jeep. i'm the one gotta get out into the mess to winch him out. in his mind he's the driver. i'm the spotter. so the spotter has double duty as the wincher. its more like his jeep, his rules. and if something breaks, its the spotter's fault. which is me. how they hell does that work.
just say no.
