So this was a set of take off Rubicon Fenders and liners with the Rugged Ridge DRL light chop kit.

Looks really good! I hadn't realized that there were other options for these DRLs aside from AAL.

Made a wrong turn on Colorado’s Switzerland Trail and ended up on a hiking trail. Before we figured it out my wife said, “wow, this is really narrow.” I put quite a few scratches in the paint backing out of this, and managed to crack the right rear tail light on an Aspen. Whoops.

But battle scars are Jeep memories, right? I wouldn’t have done it differently if I’d known.

A new tail light is on the way, as are some Rugged Ridge front and rear light guards. I’ll be doing some compounding and polishing next week, me thinks.

Drove 505 miles - part on rural back roads and part on interstate at 80mph - averaged 24.6 mpg. I didn't expect anything close to that when I bought it.

Wow how’d you get that kind of gas mileage? I don’t get anywhere near that. My average mpg is 19.7

Where did you get the Rugged Ridge DRL’s I haven’t seen them in stock anywhere yet?

I'm easy on acceleration - rarely exceed 2500rpm- and I have the stock tires. I've never reset the main fuel mileage gauge and at 11,500 miles, my overall average is 24.2 (although it occasionally falls into the 19s if I'm doing a lot of in-town driving). Probably helps also that I don't do much off-roading and the little I do is very mild.

I think the main difference is in comparing a Sport to a Rubicon.

The Sport's gear ratios, tire size, and reduced weight have to affect the mileage. With my Sport, I always beat the mileage figures on the sticker, and on long highway trips, the mileage is pretty amazing for a Jeep.

As I understand it, Rubicons use a bit more fuel. I have a JLUSportS (3.6 auto)so that may make some difference too.

We went out to check out the back roads in jtree today. Was a good trip but a bit hot. Made it to 105 degrees at the hottest point of the day
