Took it to the beach today to photograph shorebirds. The sand was pretty deep in spots, not too bad where the picture was taken. Used a long lens, so no background detail.

Well, I drove it to buy a new refrigerator instead of getting the new tires installed tomorrow

Our 5yr fridge crapped the bed 3 days ago ... tech came today and the quote given to fix the fridge turned out to be the same as the cost of the new fridge bought today, delivery (on Saturday), install and removal of old fridge

Now the new Falken Wildpeak A/T3 315/70/R17 tires installed on the Borah JK wheels will need to wait till next week

Our freezer stopped working literally one week after the expiration of the extended warranty (something that I rarely purchase, but did that time...ugh). A quick google of the symptoms and I diagnosed a blocked auto-defrost drain. A quick visit to YouTube University and we were back up and running <1 day later. I was fortunate that this was an analog problem.

Took the top off last night anticipating good sunny weather today. Then today I took my team out to lunch and a Jeep Ride through the training areas.

Got key new set of Mickey Thompson MTZ Legends yesterday afternoon and promptly tested them out
Didn’t get a picture on the mountain but here’s after, most of the mud came off on the morning commute but dang I’m loving these tires!

Went wheeling in Arkansas near Mnt. Magazine to break in some new 488 gears. Did a whole slew of forest roads. Was also learning some of the fine points about the onX nav app.

Funny thing was we kept getting these pesky "Tornado watch" warnings on the Jeep Navigation screen. Our signal was so bad with phones we had no connections and so no regular news feeds like I get most times. We thought it was a glitch. (ya that was smart)

Got back this evening to discover a massive amount of tornadoes had devastated North Little Rock and North all the way to Iowa then on East.

We were riding ridges and hills within about 20 miles of the mess and had no clue. It was jaw dropping for both of us finding this out.

Beautiful day today in the Ozarks after yesterdays rain and storms. If you took a year I doubt you could run all the trails here in Western Arkansas.

onX is one fine app. Working with self downloaded sector maps. No phone or tablet service but the GPS still works flawlessly. Really dig it.

Helped a guy that thought it was a good idea to take his girlfriend for a ride off road in his Elantra. Took a wrong turn and was about a half a mile into a 2-3 rated 4x4 high clearance trail with washouts going up about a 9 deg grade. Not sure how he got as far as he did.

Played Matts off road recovery and got them to doable forestry gravel road where they were good. It was fun actually.

Took a roadtrip to New Mexico and watched the sunrise waiting in line for the gates to open to the Trinity Site.

Then headed to White Sands NP:

Then discovered I may be leaking coolant. I can't find the leak but I filled the reservoir to MIN on Wednesday and now it's back down to almost half that in 3 days.
