So our local Jeep club is awesome. We have a member that is having a tough time with cancer. We have done several events to raise money for him. Yesterday, one of the Jeep girls organized a poker run and raised $1181 for him. Had a great time. After doing the poker run, we met back at a Jeepers house and had a good meal, had prizes to raffle off. In total, my wife and I were at the event from 10 am until 8pm. A full fun day.

The poker run consisted of a photo scavenger hunt in the local area with five stops. There were approx 40 jeeps total, so we went in groups to do the poker run. So the pics are just from the group that I lead for the most part.

I did a turn around trip 3.5 hrs each way to take my old lab to the river and get the key for my PO Box. She’s turning 17 in October and still loves to swim. Well worth the trip to see her smile and happy as can be in the water. Hopefully she’ll be around a year or two more

I have about 30 or 40 Jeeps coming to the house for coffee this morning. We call it Coffee with the Wiborn's.

Basically I open up the back of the camper, brew about 20 pots of good premium coffee, people bring their Jeeps. We drink coffee around a morning fire under a big walnut tree over looking our fields and woods.

It starts at 8:30 am. I usually do this about once month. There is always something going on in the Jeep community in the greater Lansing area.

Having lived in the U.K. whilst on active duty, it's just surreal to see photos that could easily pass for, in this example, the forests of the coastal eastern states of the U.S.

Drove through Ocala, really didn’t find much of a challenge or many trails. Mostly just fairly well maintained service roads and power line right aways with diy homes next to it. But got the badge and pin stripes. Had the top down earlier in the day, but got caught up in rain.

Running Holcomb Creek in Big Big Bear CA. Testing out my newly installed RT4 Alpine IR Long Arm Kit. Beautiful day. Some thunder storms and got out before the rain.

Did the Rubicon this weekend with the Jeepers "Jeep Jamboree". First time we've been on it and the trail lives up to it's reputation. Non-stop obstacles and beautiful scenery. The Jeepers Jamboree crew puts on a top notch event and their spotters were very helpful. The food was excellent and the price was well worth it.

Didn't have any breakage and I was very glad I had armored the complete under-side. The Metalcloak belly skid took a beating, with the transfer case portion dented in a bit. We came down hard on the RockHard sliders several times and they never flexed into the body. I've seen some posts where people say they aren't frame mounted and not as strong as others. I don't know how they can be any stronger and they held up great. One of the tubes did get dented a bit, but that would happen to any slider tube.

My 17 yr old son drove all of it except for Gatekeeper and the last part leading into Rubicon Springs. Right before the mud hole, I scraped the passenger side back corner of the hard top, but it's very superficial and should be easy to sand and re-paint. The rear corners of the tub also took some minor damage with the rear bumper flexing up into the body. I wasn't surprised and a Metalcloak rear bumper will be ordered this week.

We never got stuck and never had to winch. The new Mickey Thompson Baja Boss MT's were the absolute best tires I have ever run in the rocks. Even when wet, they always had excellent grip. I saw a lot of KM3's, MTR's, STT Pros, and others experience tire slipping and needing some wheel speed to get up/over obstacles......not the Baja Boss MT's. They were very impressive on the rocks for a radial DOT tire that I cruised home at 80 mph on.

It was a great time and if you've never been, I can't recommend going with an organized jamboree enough. Not only were there spotters at the hardest obstacles, they also had trail mechanics and a repair shop to get you going again.
