Other than boats and gear being lighter and better designed you're right!
Yeah, you got that right. I've been eyeballing them. Camping gear has come light years too. I have a Big Agnes tent that weighs next to nothing and goes up in minutes. Big improvement over the complicated canvas nonsense we had when I was growing up.

Indeed. I cycled often when young but stopped mid way through college, last bike in that period was from 1988. I got back into cycling in 2014...what a different world! I knew about carbon frames but Hydraulic disc brakes and electronic shifting? What kind of insane sorcery was this? :surprised:

I never stopped riding, but I've been riding the same road bike since 1988. Call me old-fashioned, but I don't like all the new gadgets. I wanted a "new" bike-so I bought a mint condition steel-framed Colnago from 1984. If I had the luxury of having an extra vehicle besides my DD, it would be a CJ from around that same time!

Went out to Rainbow Falls OHV. There’s a place called mini Moab. You can see it kinda, in the pics. I didn’t attempt it this time as it was just me and the fam. Next time I’ll give it a go. It’s pretty aggressive climb though.

Also had to pose! Got to engage the lockers to do it too, as the drive rear tire was in the air and it wouldn’t climb up without them.

Finished up my joint rebuild, all 8 control arms and front and rear track bars. So today went out and flexed her out a bit. Super smooth, no clanking, clunking , squeaking...... and I don’t think it hurt the flex any being a lot tighter....very happy with results. .....🙂.

We took it out offroad for the first time ever! We went to Rowher Flats OHV Area about 40 minutes from home. It was awesome and not crowded at all. I didn’t get any trail pictures but here is lunch at the 2nd staging area.

Went to Southern Four Wheel Drive Association's Teailfest and took the Know Your Rig course followed by a guided ride. Being the only stock sport we had a couple of challenging spots but Mike guided us through. Even got it up on 3 wheels at one point.

A few minutes from our 3 hours trail ride.
