I drove it through a completely unforecasted white-out. 
Just last night, I was looking at the new winter wiper blades in the Jeep's parts box, wondering if I should install them. Nah, I thought, we had almost no snow at all last year. Proper accumulations don't usually occur here until January*. The month of December is largely cold and clear.
Well.
Guess what I just did in the garage?
*And when it does snow, it sometimes does so for keeps. Here's 30" (76 cms) of the stuff (edit: Jan. 2016). Coincidentally, that's our seasonal average accumulation. We got this one-off event in 24 hours.

I was with 2 other Rubis on Patys and they just couldn’t hook up like I could on those wet rocks. That being said, they both had better gas mileage than I did getting to the trail. The world is full of compromises.
