I drove to my selling dealer to purchase a full complement of OEM fluids (sans engine oil). I like to maintain garage inventory sufficient to attend to at least one full DIY maintenance session. We used the VIN to confirm the requirement for 75W-140 in the rear; this will vary according to the axle.

The quart of 8&9 speed ATF is just to have on hand; it's nothing I plan to need anytime soon.

While I was there, I had a look at the 2021s that just came off of the truck. All prices are rounded.

Islander, $50K. Note the white top and dash panels.

"Altitude Unlimited", or some such nonsense. $57K. The painted plastic bumpers really finish it off.

JL Rubicon. $50K.

JLU Rubicon. $58K.

JLU Rubicon with Sky OneTouch. $57K.

When I arrived home, the Quadratec flashlight holder was waiting.

Love the wood heat but I truly don't miss the cold.
Yea.... nothing like wood heat but I'm getting fed up with the cold.... could live somewhere where the weather is mild year round.....

Took her out to the Dale Mining District just north of Joshua Tree National Park for a couple of days of exploring and camping. On the way home I noticed a noise coming from the right front wheel. The u joint was failing and the cap and needle bearings were completely gone on one trunion. I limped 80 miles back to Palm Desert to a Jeep dealer and dropped it off for repair and took a loaner car home. Never heard of a u joint going bad with only 3600 miles on it.
Here is a link to someone's write up on the Dale Mining District. https://americanadventurist.com/dale-mining-district/

Spent the day at the beach (Pismo Beach)!

Did that earlier this year before the first time that state was shut down. It was a blast and the kids loved it. I have relatives who still live their and tell me that basically very few are following the shut down this time. I don't know if that is true or not, but in Arizona our curfew is a recommendation.

We went to play in the snow and do a little hiking. Got to try out my wheels in the snow. Have to say they did better then I thought they would being mud tires.
