Day 27

Installed CB mount on passenger grab handle. I like it there vs attached to CB itself. Rotated Hi Lift accessory attachment so shovel would sit higher out of way and out of view. Made some aluminum angle brackets to do this. If I was able to use the Dominion Hi Lift Jack Mount this wouldn't be necessary, but my Maximus-3 brackets used same mounting holes on the roll cage.

No doubt. I ran about a dozen circuits.

Wiring just isn't as satisfying as bolting stuff up, but I've done a few miles worth over the years including building my shop. I've learned if you get that tingling feeling you know the circuit is complete. The stronger the sensation the less resistance the circuit has which is also good.

I'm actually the opposite - much more comfortable with wiring than wrenching, just comes easier for me. I'm not great at "wire management", I usually just stuff it somewhere where it can't be seen :LOL:

I’ll ask a somewhat pointless question. Why are you in 4 low in the garage?

Over the last week or so I've install a new Black Widow Gear front bumper, Warrior 12K winch, Evo engine oil pan / transmission skid plate, and club door decals.

Changed the oil last night so now I can see what the catch can will do in a full cycle. I also worked on a rig to attach to the hard top and my ceiling hoist. I will try it tonight and make the needed adjustments. Pics to follow

Installed some beef. Absolutely incredible how much more stout this stuff is vs stock (and even other aftermarket manufacturers).

Example:
Stock track bar = 6lb 10oz
Steer smarts. = 24lbs!
I'm thinking of getting the Steer Smarts, too. What are your thoughts on driving improvement? Did you have steering problems before?

Thanks.

How did you make that mount? I have an Owl and noticed today the standard mount sits really high.
I removed the magnet from the owl mount - there's a T10 screw on the back and it pops apart. Made a block big enough to bridge the dash defrost vents - mine are made from scrap wood composite and epoxy. Used a 1" forstner bit to drill a flat-bottomed hole just as deep as the magnet thickness, then a 3/4" forstner to add about 1/16" depth below that as the inner magnet needs to drop just below the outer ring when the Owl sets in it. Drill a small hole all the way through to be able to pop the magnet back out from the bottom. Used 3M outdoor tape to stick it to the dash. I've had the one in my JK for over a year now - no issues. On the JK I beveled the bottom of the block a little to get better angle adjustment.

i still need to get my SS clamp and retrofit my Nexus 2.2 to fit on it. On top of that set the toe and drag link, aka I haven't driven on it yet. I didn't have steer problems per say but my drag link was pretty beat up after our wheeling trip to moab last month.

Just received my 315/70R17 KO2 today.

Cant’t wait to to see my AEV Savegre2 wheels and the Highline fender flares (read US Rubicon) to mount it up.

Now with 285/70R17 Toyo Winter tires that have been great on ice in the french alps this season.

Gonna try to use the KO2 as all year tires and sell the current setup.

Might go on Duratracs 315/70R17 next winter if the KO2 are not as I expect on icy roads.

You’ll need to empty half way through your oil change cycle because it will be full by then.
