Smittybilt bumpers and winch install this weekend. Thought it would be easy, but I thought wrong. I have never seen sooooo much plastic with screws, bolts, nuts and braces, taking off the plastic bumpers. OMG totally over engineered. Glad I have some solid steel in front and behind me now.

I am now off road ready!

This has to be one of my favorite mods, just because it’s “every day” useful:

I'll be doing this next week end, package is in the mail. I'll have to check out your install video.

After I'm done with that I get to install the Gobi Stealth rack sitting in my garage.

Let us know how the fluid film process goes. I am thinking of putting a bit of that in the frame rails and up and about in hard to reach areas before installing the bellypan. I figure it mostly can't hurt, but at the same time I am a little worried it will trap sand and that will hold moisture etc. Hope you'll be able to file a field report after applying. Good luck!
I was going to apply it today but the delivery came a little late so I’ll apply it tomorrow and try to take pictures or a video. Will definitely let you know how it goes.

That’s awesome, I should have it posted by then. One thing I will say, is it would have been a lot easier if I did the install of this prior to my roof rack and tent. I got creative last night hoisting my top with the @Maximus-3 rack and 160 lb tent while I installed the wing panels.

@voodoo11, today I tried to buy a FTM400 for my JL, sold out at all the main dealers. I was going to mount it the same as you have. Transceiver under the seat? How did you run the wire to the control head?

I got lucky on that. I've had the rack in my garage for a few weeks, haven't had the time to put it on... Then I saw the slipstream and placed the order last week. I'm holding off on the rack till the slipstream is on.

Good call holding off though. I drilled into the Slipstream to make room for my ladder bolts. Good luck on the install and I’ll work on getting that video up soon!

I have the same front bumper and winch. How do you like your rear bumper?

I installed a quick release setup on my Jeep Backbone, designed to facilitate rapid removal and installation. I used hitch pins to align the two pieces and latch hasps to clamp them tight. It's completely bolt on, no modification of the Backbone is required. Now I have to wait for warm weather to actually try it out. The five bolts in the picture are what the quick release replaces.

I had to wait almost two months as it was back ordered due to sale plus gov shutdown had customs trickle in.

I mounted it to the plastic kick panel on the right passenger footwell, near the aux wire loom. I did a small write up here. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/ham-install-yaesu-ftm-400-dxr.24285/#post-578261

Love it. But I'd be really impressed if you could translate that to Jive!

Installed the LOD Destroyer bumper. Battery died on my impact and I’m to lazy to use a ratchet, so the skid plate will have to wait.

It looks so much better without the skid. My LOD slid's just taking up space in my garage cuz it's never getting installed.
