Rival 4x4 hood struts.

Are those struts installed upside down? I ask because the Redline struts, for example, require the gas spring cylinder to be on top to ensure proper lubrication of the seals.

First oil change on the 2021 2.0T was trying not to get clobbered by melting snow, I like putting the hood all the way back, so much more light on the situation
I haven’t don’t that yet but love the fact that I can if needed. I just did my oil change this last week as well. As someone just said, can’t add 6 quarts to mine if I do it myself.

Milo looks like VERY good boye.

Mine won’t wear a bottle opener on their collars! LOL
He is. That’s his hiking/get dirty collar. He lets us put anything on him, walked around all day as a hot dog for Halloween 😂😂

Hoping the temperature warms up a bit this weekend so I can install my carbon fiber interior pieces and fender flares!

These particular skids are on my Buy list, but most posts on the subject -- yours included -- suggest the installation effort isn't as easy as it might be. What should I be concerned with here? TIA.

Well, the shocks expand about a half an inch, so you have to shimmy it back up to line up bolt. I used a couple soft washers to line them up, then pulled them out when done. And if it some how slides down, it will expand 5-6 inches. I had to bust out the scissor jack to get it back in place. I suppose taking off the tires would make it easier and/or have it jacked up, but I decided to just do the work from my belly/back :)

Aren't they as long as stock when compressed?
We were only getting a slight rub when fully flexed, the 1.5" of initial contact should be enough to prevent that or at least reduce it. The rear tire just rubs the plastic a little bit so I think this solution will work, but even if it doesn't it won't cause any damage. Fully compressed metal to metal distance is enough to protect the shocks.
