Installed Cascadia 4x4 VSS yesterday. Easy install, just had to wait for buddies heated garage.
Overcast shitty day yesterday it was pushing 17v. Today in the low winter sun, 23v. I'm happy with that. The main purpose of this for me is to act as a daytime trickle charger on the POS battery system. Getting a Genisis kit here would cost me around $2k or more Cdn so it's off the table. Plus I'm pretty good friends with the owner of Cascadia so I got a small discount on the kit.

I have not started it yet, but a belated Christmas present just arrived. The snow/slush/mud at my new locale was enough to have me pull the trigger on them.

Kilmat goes down first (entire floor and rear cargo area) but it needs to warm up a bit to do that.

Did you have any issues with the latch thing? I got one for Xmas too but felt too tight. Wouldn’t close. Do you have to more or less slam it close?
I would hazard a guess that your tailgate has sagged some. The best way to fit it is to get in the back with a light and have someone close the tailgate as you watch it align and if you cannot adjust it out with the latch module, then loosening and adjusting the tailgate will be needed.

I strongly urge anyone thinking of using this crap to buy anything else. Rust oleum Matte black finish SUCKS. It turns out a dark olive drab. Looks horrible. Had to go and buy Krylon matte black to cover this eye sore up.

After batteries sitting in the garage for 3 months and daily charging of batteries last month or so I finally spent the 3 hours it took to replace the goddamn batteries. Hour of it was cause of aftermarket liner and stripped out bolts but still…what a pain. Will definitely do the AUX bypass next time around.

I feel your pain I recently replaced both of mine, too, when I started getting the dashboard warning message regarding temporarily not firing up my auxiliary items while the battery charged. It was definitely a PITA, but unlike many I did not remove the inner fender liner and went in from the top after watching the great [Banned Site] video on this subject. Took me about an hour as well, but it went very smoothly.

Next time will be faster since I've been through the process. Biggest pain was just holding back all the connection cables to get to the top cover of the aux battery bay while removing bolts. Putting it back together went very quickly. I may consider the bypass in the future, but now that I've done it once it's not that big a deal. My batteries were at the 3 1/2 year point. Believe it was just the aux battery going out, but did both just to keep it clean. The heat beat down here in San Antonio pretty much toasts batteries and shortens their lives, for sure. Very routine to go less than 4 years, as I've had happen on multiple vehicles of all makes. The whole ESS thing is such a sham and PITA to deal with, not to mention the cost of yet an additional battery. Glad you were able to get it done, though! :like:

That is really interesting. I did not have that happen when I did my grille/headlight/fog inserts last year with Rust-o-leum matte black and the matching matte clearcoat. It is still holding up super-well as matte black with no olive tint, although on the right vehicle that's a pretty cool color! Glad you were able to get it like you want it, but sorry about the extra pain. đź‘Ť

Too be honest I almost left it as a throw to my 22yrs in the Army before retirement BUT the green DIDNT blend well with Granite Metallic, so I had to change. Your right if I had another color like brown or black then the color would work Nice Jeep by the way!!!

I installed the driver side hinge step. Went way smoother than the passenger side yesterday.
