Well finally mounted the new Mopar wheels (8.5" w/5.2" backspace) wrapped in 37x12.50 KO2's in load C. First picture after installing tires

Can I get a picture of the tire "poke"?
Been looking at wheels with the same spec.
Thanks.

I like the looks of Deegan 38 Rock Sliders with LED Rock Lights.
What do you guys think of the Deegan steps? How well do they actually work as a step?
Thanks.

Not today but last Thursday I threw some infinity reference 3.5” speakers into the sound bar and dash. Stuffed the dash 3.5” and sound bar mids with some polyfill. Definitely a big improvement over the stock speakers. Not a premium sound but that’s ok this is a soft top Jeep.
The model numbers would be very helpful if you gotta sec...

@RudeJeepin - I had a few issues with metal on metal rubbing originally. It was all due to the fitment of them directly from the manufacturer. The simple fix I ended up with was to pull them off and performed some quick trimming of the front mounts on both side steps using a bolt cutter, vice grips and file.
Now that the metal on metal sound is gone, they are everything I wanted! As a step, they are perfect for reaching anything on the roof and work as expected to get into the Jeep. Lights look great and easy install overall. Including a pic of the trimmed front mounts for anyone interested.

I cant imagine it being that big of an issue if one is careful. The solar panel isn't made of glass.

But the windshield is. Glass laminate, at least. And the panel is made of fragile, crunchy silicon bits, but they are mostly protected by the sturdy curvature of the hood.

The bulge on the edge of the Cascadia solar panel where the power cable comes out will press against the middle of the windshield if you fold the latter down. You can carefully fold the windshield down onto the bulge pressure point, and it might be fine in a static situation, but I can virtually guarantee you that it will shatter at that spot with a bit of road jostling. But if you add some extra height to the factory standoffs, it should be fine.

Not as bad, but still bad, If you open the hood all the way back to lean against the windshield, it will most likely damage the solar panel cable.

Again, I really like the solar panel, consumers just need to be aware that it has its caveats.

Well, I have the Rubicon system coming, I'll have to check it out. I won't ever bother dropping windshield, but I do flip my hood back occasionally. When I do, there is always something between hood and frame of windshield notwithstanding.

Finally got a winch installed! Now my bumper doesn’t look so naked and I’ll feel better on the trails.

Was it the Cascadia system? I've got one myself, and it's been great, but it comes with caveats unmentioned. I.e. don't fold down the windshield, and don't flip the hood all the way up and back. Inform your buddy.
I am not sure what solar panel he bought. The way it is wired, and placed, he could still fold down the windshield and or put the hood all the way up.

I got new shoes and socks on her. I wanted to get 37" KM3's but they are semi permanently backordered so I went with 37" KO2's in Load Range C. The wheels are American Outlaw Lonestars from Discount Tire. I can't wait to get them dirty!

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Performed a 5 1/2-hour cleaning recovery operation following an awesome 5-day adventure with three others in Big Bend NP and Terlingua here in SW Texas. Washed, waxed, vacuumed, replaced air filters, and wiped down every surface in an attempt to clean up all the heavy dust I ingested during our off-road action, including Black Gap Road, one of the Badge of Honor trails here in Texas. It was a great trip!
So was Black Gap a great run? It's about 5.5hrs from us so not too bad, but only if it's worth the drive, and it sounds like it is :)

While I had the time and energy, I attended to winterization tasks. (I enjoy cold weather, although it doesn't do any favors for my lower back.)

1. Studded General Grabber Arctic LTs on new 17" steel wheels ($51 per to install TMPS sensors.)

Tire Rack shipped the tires inflated to very near their maximum rated pressure of 80 PSI. I lowered them to 41 PSI prior to installation. The sweet spot for my Michelin LTXs is 37 PSI, and the conventional wisdom is to add 3-5 PSI when substituting 3PMSF tires.

The shakedown drive revealed nothing untoward. Perceived road noise has increased a bit, as expected.
2. Duralast winter wiper blades. I've used them on most of my vehicles during Autumn/Winter, and have been impressed with their ability to mitigate slush accumulation.

3. Fuel carrier/container combo. Done for aesthetics.

In the summer, that Rotopax does pay for itself when I use it to refuel the motorcycles during camping trips.

Not pictured (stowed in the Jeep):
-East German entrenching tool
-7K recovery strap
-Fleece blanket that stores as a travel pillow
Diggin the black steelies, sometimes less is more :)
