The Cascadia 4x4 VSS system lets you mount to hood with 3M. You could also buy one for a different vehicle and mount it to roof I imagine.
I looked at that system and actually have the one for the Rubicon, but I never installed it
Do you notice that the inside of your Jeep is a bit cooler since the solar panels are blocking the direct sunlight from heating up the hard top? Or no difference because the sun from the windshield is going to heat up the inside anyway?
Haven't noticed a difference to be honest. There may be a slight difference, but here in FL it's hot no matter what :)

I've the Fumoto F106 valve in my parts box, to be installed at the next oil change. I hope I can clock (i.e., properly snug) the valve in the correct orientation, as you've done.



Do those rectangular terminals have enough give in the cabling to snap them into place while still having decent visibility of the underside of the fuse box?
The rectangular terminals snap into place down below and the doc just kind of snaps into place!

Dismantling the power distribution center (PDC) is not the recommended way to get to the Aux battery. Dealer Techs are told to do a fender liner peel (remove a few plastic rivets) to access the Aux battery.

You can do the Aux battery change out in less then an hours time...

Dismantling the PDC to get to the Aux is a deed that takes longer and could in the end cost you lots and lots of $ due to damage to the PDC.... Also, access to Aux/working with Aux battery is easier from below

yeah, I was trying to be extra careful.
you also run the risk if breaking the plastic retainers that run along the fender that way and I’ve heard they don’t sell the retainers separately…which would mean running without fenders… Lose-lose situation. Still don’t understand why Jeep makes it so difficult…

JL/JT fender flare clips cost $.99 each and are readily available on eBAY, etc... You can buy as few or as many as you want.. Buy and have on hand BEFORE you pull the flare..

IF you are really careful you may not break any fender flare clips ....but I would not pull a flare if I did not have say 6 spare clips on hand.

Older JL's especially may have brittle clips that would be more apt to break.

When I have done the flare pull (I have done over 6) I break one or two clips usually.

You can also just peel back the flare's fender liner... you destroy a few cheapie plastic rivets.. I find that I just have far better/easier access pulling the flare though... Much faster and cleaner doing the flare pull...

I installed the Tuffy security box in the back so when I’m topless and keep my compressor and recovery stuff secure. No issues on installing well built should do the job nicely.
