You put rivets through the roof, right?
Was thinking about doing something like this someday but would rather not make any holes in the top 🤔
The Cascadia 4x4 VSS system lets you mount to hood with 3M. You could also buy one for a different vehicle and mount it to roof I imagine.

Do you have the ASFIR middle skid now? If you do how hard would it be putting that drain on and then putting the drain plug on to drain oil through the opening the skid has ?

Are you asking about a drain in general, or the valvomax?
I have a Fumoto and the drain kit comes with either a straight or elbow coupler that attaches to a hose.
It is super easy to snap the coupler on and put the hose into whatever container you want, then drain completely drip free.

How much does the Fumoto stick out? Does it come beyond oil change hole on Asfir skid?

Caught me in the garage.

This is my wife’s 2.0, the oil pain on my 3.6 is a little different but about the same if I remember. Really doesn’t stick down much.
Correct thread is M14x1.5 which are the 106 series for Fumoto. I have F106S plus the drain kit on Amazon.

Ahh. Sorry, I thought you were running Asfir skids on a 2.0. Still though, great pic. I guess I'll have to see after install skid.
Thanks.

Nope, just high quality 3m tape strips the length of the Panels on each roof rib and weatherproof caulk around the edges to protect them.

It's a 100% no drill installation. The Panels have been on for quite some time, I just finalized the wiring yesterday is all.

Man, this 230:am post I miss. lol

From the size here I would think the ASFIR skid would keep plug end just inside opening. The plug looks like its 1/2 inch under oil pan and the skid would be about even with bottom of the oil pan.

We should be good, I think.

Replaced the main and aux batteries after a day of having to jump start the Jeep. At first, I thought it was a fuse that wiggled it’s way out but after reading a few posts and seeing I just hit 40k miles, I knew it was time.
Also, why does Jeep make it so difficult to get to the aux battery? Took nearly 2 hours to replace both batteries…

They're both 100w panels, and I see about 140w during the day. They aren't at the ideal angle, but with the way the Jeep roof is grooved the install is super easy and allows for cooling.

That keeps my two batteries (Genesis system) topped off at all times. That's a good thing as my work commute is maybe 5miles.

The best part though?... I can still use the Bestop Sunrider without any issues to the Panels!:)
Do you notice that the inside of your Jeep is a bit cooler since the solar panels are blocking the direct sunlight from heating up the hard top? Or no difference because the sun from the windshield is going to heat up the inside anyway?

I've the Fumoto F106 valve in my parts box, to be installed at the next oil change. I hope I can clock (i.e., properly snug) the valve in the correct orientation, as you've done.

Do those rectangular terminals have enough give in the cabling to snap them into place while still having decent visibility of the underside of the fuse box?

Dismantling the power distribution center (PDC) is not the recommended way to get to the Aux battery. Dealer Techs are told to do a fender liner peel (remove a few plastic rivets) to access the Aux battery.

You can do the Aux battery change out in less then an hours time...

Dismantling the PDC to get to the Aux is a deed that takes longer and could in the end cost you lots and lots of $ due to damage to the PDC.... Also, access to Aux/working with Aux battery is easier from below

Next time (and there will undoubtedly be a next time) read through this thread before you replace the Aux battery:

Regardless of the "clock" position the valve release lever is quite easy to deal with. So, clock position does not matter... Just don't over tighten the Fumoto trying to obtain clock position...

Consider wrapping the threads of the Fumoto with yellow Teflon tape (not white) and then installing it..

You MUST use the provided blue fiber washer that comes with the Fumoto.

The Fumoto will probably come with one of their LC-10, locking clips which is plastic. It does do it's intended job but it does come off fairly easily.

Not mandatory, but suggest you go buy a 5/8" hose clamp and use that instead of the Fumoto plastic clip. The 5/8 metal hose clamp has to be installed with a plier and cannot be removed with your fingers... you must use a plier to remove. You can also use a heavy duty zip tie to secure the open and close lever of the valve.

Consider buying a gun magnet to place on the bottom of the oil pan. Just before you drain the oil remove the magnet. Re-place magnetic after you drain the oil..

Luck of the draw. Wife’s was perfect, the one on my gladiator is sideways. Go figure🙄
Doesn’t seem to affect function so I didn’t spend any more time on it.
