What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

I added lockable storage utilizing the rear storage bin by fitting a flush mount 12x16 door, blanking out the remaining opening. I was going to use the flush mount door thru the sleeping platform but decided to ask the wife for ideas. She got a big Hi-5 for her idea thus executed.

Ronbo Ranger, do you have a write up elsewhere on your set up? I am planning something similar and it seems like we have a lot of similar ideas, love to see some more details on what you did. TIA!

What did the rest of the rig look like?

This was off of a 21 gladiator rubicon so the paint condition was excellent. Was hoping for find a Mojave hood but this will do... obviously removed the rubicon stickers.

In the middle of installing a spacer lift. Going to run this for a few months so my 37 don’t get bored. Will be throwing a full lift kit on once I decide which one…

Dang..that must be nice wrenchin’ on carpet. But how do you keep it clean?!

I got my inspiration from cheeper jeeper on YouTube. He even provided a basic blue print in his links to those videos.
He also has a video on how to remove the rear seats. I have no write up but here are few pics showing the progression of the project. All I have left to do is install the anchor eyelets.
If you choose to follow his plans you might want to go a few inches lower so there can be a little more head space. This was a fun build.

I always for get to take pics when i do stuff. But here's my most recent. Done by myself. I can tell you lifting this tire up 10 times checking clearances over and over was really tiring i wanted it to sit as low as possible and as close to the gate as possible.

I cut up the carpeting Jeep provides that covered the rear storage tub. Now it fits nicely over the flush mount door between the upright supports of the platform to conceal it. Turns out what's is inside that carpet is honeycomb correlated card board.

My new doors off mirrors came in yesterday. So, last night I installed the CMM Offroad A pillar side mirror mounts. I don't get the chance to take the doors off real often, so these may be overkill. But I wasn't liking the hinge mounted ones I got at all. I really like the permanent but unobtrusive mount with these and how quickly and easily the mirrors attach. No pictures, because it was dark. But install was quick and quite easy (I did it in the dark).

That’s exactly what I did too. I was using the DoubleTake mirror solution with RAM mounts to the hood cowl, but am liking the new CMM setup. I’m currently rocking both, as you can see in the pic. I’ll remove the DoubleTake soon.

Note - I was using the top grab handle mount option, but I since moved it to the bottom grab handle. It was too high up top and the angle wasn’t right. It’s perfect on the bottom mount option.

Tbh it’s not all the comfy. My knees had carpet burn It’s an indoor outdoor carpet. Just vacuumed all the rocks and dirt and back to normal. Space is normally a gym.
