What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Installed the Genesis Offroad Dual Battery kit with Odyssey batteries in my 2019 JLUR 3.6L today. The auxiliary battery has failed twice already, both times leaving me stuck in busy intersections and needing a tow to the dealer. My winch, ARB twin compressor, and two sets of BD lights are now connected directly to the accessory battery. Still need to go back and do some major wire management and clean things up, but it got too hot this afternoon.

I know this is GROSSLY off-topic, but I couldn't restrain myself. I used my Cricut to make the Omnitonic logo for the head of my bass drum.

Oh hell yeah! I need to get me some of those. My major beef with swapping out the crappy factory plastic bumper is that I have all that exposed metal now. Must investigate immediately! Thanks for letting me know about a thing that exists that I definitely need!!

Installed the Kleinn remote start kit.

FYI @Quadratec said in their video the system with the remotes would work if you had the factory remote entry and wanted the extended range remotes… NOT COMPLETELY TRUE. After I installed the system the Kleinn remote worked for lock, unlock, and remote start… but - the Jeep won’t start without the OEM remote, says key fob not detected! And, even though Kleinn said the OEM remotes would work too… NOT COMPLETELY TRUE. The OEM remotes still unlock and lock, but they will not remote start. So, looks like I carry 2 remotes which is lame, or I have to figure out something else, maybe reprogram the controller without the Kleinn remotes???

And - the quadratec site has an error. The non-remote system is the RSJL2. The remote system is the RSJLLR1… the old model which requires splicing wires. The directions on the site are for the RSJL2LR1 which is the new system which plugs into the canbus. If you look at the directions like I did and don’t catch the model difference you‘ll end up with the old system.

Pop the transponder out of the Jeep remote and you should be good to go. It’s the little square piece inside the remote

My big achievement for the day was dropping my HAUK M.U.L.E. skid plate down to where I could unbolt the VIAIR air tank, tip it up, and replace the stock petcock with one of these. I didn't have any means on hand to redo the loop in the supplied cable, so I routed it over my axle, my sway bar, my muffler, etc., and tied it to a bolt hole I found, using some factory bolt I took off during some modification or other. The net result is that I can drain the air by reaching under the spare tire, and yanking a wire rope. This is preferable to crawling under a muddy Jeep to futz around with screwing out a petcock.

The clean up begins.

Looked like this yesterday on the way home from wheeling.

spent an hour last night washing the big stuff off.

Now off to the High pressure power washer today, then hand wash and hand wax and detail the inside and if time permits, get the Jeep naked, top and doors off. While we have Jeep stuff planned for the next three weekends, None of them require over night travel or off road travel. So stripe th Jeep down until The 3rd week of August and then off to Drummond Island and then over to Wisconsin.

So hopefully clean pics to follow.
