Any benefit out the back over the spare?
No, but I’m still on stock tires, so have no prob with the view out the back as is. Folks with 37s+ might get a slight benefit.

Installed cheaper sunshade under my Sunrider. Went on easy, didn't have to drop the windshield or remove the hardtop. It's not perfect but works good even with the Sunrider on. Just lower my window to throw back or bring forward.
Have to make some minor adjustments and I think it will work for now, time will tell.

Went mudding yesterday and then I power washed it. It’s a real PITA that I kinda feel mudding isn’t worth it.

Yep, takes forever. Seems worth it at the time but of course I'll do it every chance I get and then complain the whole 3 hours I take to wash it lol

Haha nice.

is it really important to get the under carriage really washes well? I just don’t want it to turn to cement and then I get issues.

Also, how do I clean the engine bay? Anything I need to cover?

I haven't done the engine bay yet but I need to. I keep forgetting. Would be interested in this as well.

undercarriage I just spray really quick. I have this nozzle that I can change the angles so I can get different areas underneath.

I gave my JL's hangar mate some attention yesterday. I upgraded the JKUR as part of a plan to enable it to do a better job of keeping up with the JL off-road. My son will be piloting it on future trips with me and our group of friends.

Phase 1 is complete, and that was to install a new AEV 2.5" Dualsport lift. I wanted to increase the breakover angle and improve on/off-road handling characteristics. So with the help of a couple friends and my nephew's company's lift, we got her done yesterday. Wow, what a difference over the old AEV spacer lift, which served very well for about 12 years. I also wanted to get rid of the steep front rake on it, so along with the lift I put Teraflex 1/2" spacers up front. Mission accomplished. We'll be sticking with the 33" KO2s because they've peformed well in all conditions and the JKUR's thinner axle tubing. I've never seen a JK with broken axle or suspension parts running 33's, and I don't plan for mine to be the first.

Ready for disassembly and ready to bust some knuckles getting those old corroded bolts off! (I did just that in the process. Ouch!)

My cousin and friend taking off the old RX5000 shocks. They served well but I always thought they were a little jarring. 5 years and 60k on them. They still worked fine. That bolt was TOUGH, btw! Wound up having to break out the torch.

First time with weight on the Dualsport suspension. The forward rake was dramatically reduced, as desired.

And thar she is! While not quite there, she's a little closer to looking the JL eye to eye! Rides and feels MUCH better! (Still doesn't copare to the JLUR/Mopar combo) Ready for my son to learn the ropes, which protects my JLUR better than its own skid plates! Lol!

Phase 2 will be a Rough Country adjustable front track bar to center the front axle up a little bit. I'll also at that time add the AEV geometry correction brackets which will make the already excellent on-road manners even better.

Phase 3 will be a new front bumper, because the plastic original just doens't look good anymore and has been beaten up a bit. So I've ordered a Rugged Ridge Arcus bumper. It will also lower the winch and get it out from in front of the grille.

The Jeep runs like new and is in almost perfect condition inside and out, in spite of 13 1/2 years and 152k miles.
