That's really rotten of Dana to treat a customer this way and simply wash their hands of the whole thing... SMH

Just an update, I did post elsewhere that I finally got hold of a friendly Dana rep, sent all my information in and Dana did send me new HD ball joints.

However it is unlikely Dana would do this today...After more research on Dana's part it seems that Jeep/Mopar had specified OEM ball joints on Jeep branded (diff cover reads Jeep) Dana UD44 AdvanTEK's! Aftermarket Dana UD44 AdvanTEK's (diff cover reads Dana) include the HD Performance ball joints. Jeep/Mopar have a large stock of UD44 AdvanTEK's and likely all were manufactured during the same time period (mine was built in late 2019) thus making them all new-old-stock. Both Jeep/Mopar (Jeep branded) UD44 AdvanTEK's and aftermarket UD44 AdvanTEK's (Dana branded) are typically priced the same, sometimes aftermarket units are even less...Me thinks Jeep would be smart to run a sale on these and reduce their stockpile!

Finished setting up the rear storage area.

The brief was that it had to be easy to install and remove as it is only used when we are out camping. The rest of the time the space is used for dogs and grocery shopping.

You might want to place some heat shielding on below the storage compartment. My Borla on my 3.6 melted it a little (See Pic).
Thanks for the tip! I just bought this exhaust system yesterday and will definitely be investing in some heat shield.

I finally bought and installed the Sunrider top.

Love it so far. Will take it out to the desert tomorrow to see how it does.

Now to see if Bestop screws me on the rebate.

So it’s my understanding that the Lox for the Rotopax can have a rust problem like most locks when exposed to the elements and especially road salt and debris. I’m going to try to prevent that. We’ll see if this goes well.

I’m surprised something like this hasn’t been professionally produced. It wouldn’t cost much at all. I used olive oil as a release agent. lol

I’m not sure how to upload multiple pics with their own annotation. Looking on the inside, you can see the raised spot that is the parting line between the two segments of the lock. This will act as a snap.

I notched the ends (see pic) because there was interference with it going all the way on due to the circle shaped step (also pictured) around the opening in the Rotopax.

This was 10 dips and one wet coat of this Glossifier that says it’s a UV protectant. Perhaps that will help durability. Again, I only plan to install these as needed.

Though the finish isn’t perfect due to the tiny bubble marks, they came out pretty decent. I let the dip thicken too much over the course of two days before I got some Naptha to thin it out and make it easier to keep these tiny bubbles at bay. I also switched from the duct tape pictured to blue painters tape to keep the dip out of the lock. Whatever imperfection you see in the beginning before dipping (crumpled tape) will show. I had to restart.

That came out great. Also a couple of drops of transmission fluid in the lock will keep it working smooth even in freezing temps. I'm going to give this a try down the road.

I mounted my ZAutomotive, bypass module with a 3D printed mount made by forum member @WilhelmSR.

The mount works well with/for the Tazer JL Mini and the Lite as well as the bypass module that ZAutomotive sells..

The mount secures with 2 zip ties. The Tazer JL Mini/Lite/Bypass module, easily slips into the mount.

When you want to remove the Tazer JL Mini/Lite/Bypass module, you just push on the little tab on the rear and it releases the goodie it houses..

What's extra nice about this particular mount is that it covers the port on the mount.

The mount is not visible after you re-install the plastic under the steering column.

today i removed the front plastic bumper that came on my rubicon, and installed the OEM steel 3-piece i purchased from allmoparparts.
i left the end caps off to make it easier to install the bumper. they are staying off i love the look lol.
also installed a Rusty's skid plate (very heavy duty, easy to install. highly recommend this part if someone is on the fence between OEM steel bumper skidplate from mopar vs aftermarket. you wont be disappointed. Rusty's skid plate is thick probably 3/16 steel)
it protects the sway bar disconnect system.

by getting the OEM (cost me 996 shipped) it already had the lights and wiring harness in the bumper, ready to bolt on.

for the filler panel between the bumper and grill, i just trimmed the one that came installed with the plastic bumper (just trimmed off the top part with the 5 mounting holes). the one for the steel bumper is the same without the front vertical part.
