I doubt it would hurt anything. Besides, it won't jam the wires up into the grille as happens with some. Not much room back there. My wires rest up against the grille and I wonder if it won't rub the paint off at some point.
Yeah, I wondered if that was the reason why he did it too. It works of course, you just see the wires. Not a bad idea though, prevents the rub against the grill like you said.

Yeah, it's really tight behind the winch and the wires would rub the grille. I may try to find another spot to mount the box, but it will do for now

I've thought about relocating mine, too, but it looks like it would be a pain to find a good place because you still have to have easy access to the remote plug. Mine isn't wireless.

That's what I'm worried about too. Mine is wireless, but I don't think I'd trust the wireless remote to work when I needed it lol

Holy crap - you’ve got to be kidding. I have a 2019 and didn’t know this. Can’t wait to dig in and find them!!
I removed the carpet cutouts from mine, seemed to make the floor mat lie flatter. I also just purchased 2 extra plugs for the matts and left the ones in the floor pan.

I should have done this... My wires are jammed against the grille... And considering I have my winch covered with a nylon bag you'd never even notice... C'est la vie!
