I've not yet heard any popping from the new Infinity speakers, either. The product's ad copy on Crutchfield's site materially omits mention of the inclusion of capacitors with the speakers, though, nor the possible need to solder them in place if sound quality suffers. This, on top of the inaccurate plug-and-play installation promise for the 2018+ Wrangler.I got the JBL’s, same here and I installed the adapters as is and it sounds great. No popping or anything. I had read they fixed the reversed issue after lots of complaints from the forum.
I've been buying from Crutchfield since the 80s, and have had a superlative experience in that time, but this go-round was a multi-tiered flub on their part.
I was on the phone with Crutchfield Tech Support after I identified the two installation deficiencies that I mentioned in a previous post (and to be clear, the rep was polite and professional). He claimed no knowledge of the polarity-reversal issue with the Metra adapters. Having the correct terminal pin tool kit allowed me to fix that matter on the bench in short order. Good luck to the owners that have to cut & crimp to fix things.
I did mention to the tech that the wiring chart, on p. 17 of their own Master Sheet for the 2018+ Wrangler, correctly identifies in detail all of the positive and negative factory wire colors. I then suggested that this data could be cross walked to the Metra adapters, if or when they decide to investigate the aforementioned and still-current polarity error.
