Let there be light!

Baja Designs LP6 lights. My first attempt at wiring and installing auxillary lights. Wired the low and high beam functions to the OEM aux switches. Going into it, I felt like Clark Griswold at Christmas troubleshooting my way through this project! Coming out of it, it was much easier than I anticipated.

Tomorrow, it's time to figure out how to wire their backlit daytime running lights function.

Anybody have thoughts on tapping into a fuse in the fuse box vs tapping into the actual DRL wire?

Buy an add a fuse from Amazon and tap into fuse box. I do it all the time.

Yes, this is the Voswitch you see on Amazon. Easy to install. Feels nice with solid clicks on the buttons. Wiring and all the parts seem good. Now I just need to hook stuff up to it. It is certainly cheaper than the Mopar kit and does not hook to your system so no flash needed. (Not as cheap as soldering in some leftover crap from the garage shelf like right jeeps of yore but I guess times are changing...)
It does fine under load. I have fogs, driving, and a 10" flood/spot combo and happy with performance. Hopefully adding a winch soon, so can add some extra draw on it, but love the installed product. Would recommend to anyone considering a switch system. Better than the OEM as it has two additional switches and does not need a flash....

Hey John, Do you know if these plug and play no capacitors needed? Amazon has these at $57.

Infinity Reference REF-3032CFX 3-1/2" 2-way Car Speakers - Pair
I put these in my 2018 with the upgraded 8.4 Alpine system without capacitors and they sound great

Finished install of my Red Line Hood Struts.

Rather than trying to get the top brackets underneath the hood insulation, I decided to just trim it back. I traced the outline of the top bracket with a pencil, took some small scissors and cut/removed the material underneath the bracket. While it is a small detail, now the top hood brackets fit flush.

Worked great and looks like it should have been done at the factory. Very happy with the install and the product.

How did they come out?
Ok.. put them in..... first of all... it was 30 degrees out...brrrr!!!!... so I was a little nervous about breaking clips and such, but with help from a heat gun and just being careful, I persevered. 😁

Tools I used...a screw driver, clip removal tool and a10mm socket. GLOVES!..I also had gloves...brrrr 🥶

So removed the 6 top clips, then carefully pulled the grill straight out (was nervous about that one)

Them used the 10mm to remove the 3 bolts holding the light in.

I then un-clipped the power cable from the back. You only had to press down on the locking tab to remove.

At this point, unscrew the back plate, remove the connector wire and unscrew the bulb.

I then replaced the bulb with the LED bulb and tested her out.... repeated for the other side....

Driving, low beam and high beam work!!!😀

No flickering noted but I'll know better when it's night time....

I saw some LP9 knockoffs on FB Marketplace that looked almost identical for 25% of the price of the BDs. The BDs are beautiful but they are too much money!
