I love our Rubicons but this little guy sure is a lot of fun to drive.

I do enjoy my new JLU. If the budget could accommodate it, though, I'd also have a two door Wrangler in inventory. I remember the unique, cozy and very fun driving dynamic of my YJ; it's something that the four door version simply can't reproduce.

Been wanting to do this exact same thing! Any chance you can provide where you got the parts from and the numbers? I already have the digital gauge, i just dont have the connecter/adaptors and new hose.
I got all the part from lowes/home depot. Just got to where the hoses are and you will see all different kinds of connectors, hoses, tape, etc and everything you need.

I just did a swap a week ago and doing a proper speak polarity test showed they were reversed. I also helped another forum user who also confirmed they are swapped.

I strongly suggest Speaker Pop to test this as it confirms that regardless of the wiring between the amp and speakers that the polarity is correct. And that is what matters for your listening pleasure.

Professional installers always test this way - what the speaker is actually doing.
Can this be checked with a Multimeter?

Not to or with the Jeep, but for it. And me. :)

Wanting to eliminate my constant reliance on the flip key to unlock the doors or tailgate (thus allowing the fob to stay in @Blkjak 's superlative holster), I sourced the correct key blade.

That was just the beginning. After multiple conversations over multiple days with multiple dealers' parts departments, and locksmiths, I finally found a quasi-local pro shop that had the machine necessary to router cut (the correct terminology here) the key blade for my use. 10 minutes and $27.00 later, and it works as smoothly as the factory key.

(As an aside, I priced a new fob, coupled with the compulsory dealer programming service. $215.00. Not this time, thank you.)

I have a brand new drill press in the box, waiting to be set up. Maybe I'll get around to it now, since poking a hole for a key ring will require precision.

So, for the first time since I got my JL a year ago, yesterday I hit the ESS OFF button.

Without doing anything, ESS now remains off, and the off button is lit up every time I start the vehicle.

Is this how it is supposed to work? I thought you had to press the button every time you wanted to turn ESS off.

I’m not complaining, just surprised.

PS - I’m not touching the button just in case it is a “malfunction” and won’t be able to get it to do it again.

I wonder how I can make mine malfunction so that happens to mine. Would be nice to not have to press it each time I start the jeep.

Yeah. I wish I could tell you. Sorry.

Well, there’s one thing I did: a few days ago I turned off TravelLink using a Tazer Mini. The non-stop Weather Alerts were driving me nuts.

I wonder if that did anything to the ESS button...

It’s possible, my rear door window buttons weren’t working the other day, I could raise lower rear windows from front seat buttons, but the ones on the back of console didn’t work, and yes I made sure the lock button was off, lol. Took the buttons out to make sure everything was connected, couldn’t find anything wrong. So I took a break from it and added a little bit of power steering fluid, it wasn’t empty but it always bugged me that it hovered around the minimum line. Anyway, I shut the hood and decided to try the buttons one more time, the sonsabitches worked....:swear:.... so now I don’t rule anything out as cause and effect.....:)

Can this be checked with a Multimeter?
Absolutely. Put your meter in DC voltage and just confirm by polarity. If the voltage reads (-), then the lines are swapped.

You flex so much you are stretching the interior wiring...
