ATTEMPTED to install a MORE Dead Pedal, but after 2 hours of frustration, I finally gave up.
Firstly, the driver side footwell is ridiculously cramped. I could not fit down there; had to work using only my right hand.
Secondly, this dead pedal is a lot more convoluted than the one-piece pedal I installed on my JKs. There’s a retainer that mounts from the backside of a kick panel reinforcement, which fell behind the kick panel several times. There’s also a wiring harness that runs alongside the kick panel cover, which the install sheet does not even mention, but won’t let the pedal fit unless I cut the plastic retainers and reroute the wiring.
After battling the cramped space and the retainer falling behind the kick panel several times, to adjust how far back-forward you want the pedal to be you have to completely remove the pedal and repeat the installation process from the start. Pfff...!
IMO, to do this installation properly, you’d have to remove the driver seat to gain access, remove the kick panel cover, cut the electrical wiring retainers, reroute the wiring, mount the pedal, adjust the pedal and repeat the installation procedure until you are satisfied, and put everything back together. I wasn’t prepared to do all that for a dead pedal, so it goes back to Quadratec.
