I live in SoCal and wheel hot dry dusty deserts and mountains. I like the A/C on and windows up when wheeling hot and or dusty conditions. This seems to put a heavy tax on the cooling system when crawling because my fan runs on high a lot. Having a winch in front of the grill doesn't help. Also the winch and ARB twin onboard air both have big battery draws and require the motor to be idling when in use. These often kick up the fan speed. Also, on the trail when motor is shut down for short periods. The engine temperature rises to the point where when motor is started back up the fan runs on high for awhile. The cooling system does work but when the fan is on high as needed it's rather annoying.
Thinking I can't add more air flow in but I can allow more air out. I simply raised the back of the hood as an experiment. Much easier and reversible vs cutting in hood vents which seems to be the norm.

As an option, DV8 makes a hood for venting heat.

Replaced the front dash corner speakers with Kicker 3 1/2's from Crutchfield ($70). Total install time was 10 min, tools needed trim removal tool and short Phillips head. Plug and play and they sound SOOOOO much better than OEM. Also replaced the tweeters in the roll bar with Quadratec Super tweeters ($129 and also plug and play) and the upgrades increase volume dramatically as well as sound quality. Total install for all 4 was 20 min taking my time. Well worth it!

What made you replace them?

Those look sharp. Just picked up a 2020 JLU Willys and want to protect the seats from the dog...do you think these are durable enough? Are Neoprene covers hot compared to factory seat cloth?

Thanks!
These are a really good value for the money. Been running mine for about 2.5 months. No issue, added comfort, no issues with heat..

Does the third pic show the required wiring harness? They came with the speakers?

Finally finished my 4.56 gear install. Loving the way it drives. Shifts with ease and takes off with little to no gas. Was a bit of work for sure.

Made a tool to make it easier to install the pinion flange since I was installing it and removing it a bunch of times getting my pattern right. Saw something similar on youtube and gave it a shot. Works like a charm.

that’s my next upgrade too.
would like to do the kick panels as well but think i’ll pass on those for now since it looks like it involves a lot of dash removal

Nice but the four bolts and aluminum plates cost me $10 vs 100x plus .
Just my opinion, but I'd still go with the $10 brackets and bolts even if that hood came color matched for $5.

The grumper grill must be the first suggested part that pops up when someone adds that hood to their checkout cart.
