Made just the "rubicon" red disappear - by accident!

Was plasti dipping the whole thing and messed up one of the "e" s. Now...because I am neurotic i was going to redo it and went to take the plasti dip off the "e" and lo and behold it came off of just the letter and stayed on the surrounding red! So I proceeded to do that on all the other letters and voila - it worked!

For reference - I used 7 layers of plasti dip - one every 15-20 mins (and let the last one sit for 35 mins). So took about an hour and a half to do one side.

Hands down the most difficult mod yet. I give it 6 beers out 6. You have been warned.

That was my very first mod. Was going to take it to the dealer to do....but I decided to tackle it myself (2-3 hrs at least)

I’m pretty sure I installed it backwards....but it’s ok, cause I heard dealers were installing them upside down:bandit:

Hot heads headliner installed - didn't take pics.
Complete sound dampening done to the floor and wheel wells - front to back. Will do the doors eventually.
Smittybuilt side rails and pinch seam cover installed.

Hi bud.... yeah so far it’s been great. I’ve always used a dual shock stabilizer, not because I think they’re any better, I just liked the way it makes the steering feel, kinda heavy, slower return to center.

Anyway.... with my new synergy tie rod I can’t run it now, the new tie rod sits closer to the diff and no room for center bracket.

So this new ts stabilizer has been great. I can firm up the steering where I like it, and an unexpected bonus, I adjust it to softer setting when wheeling in sugar sand.. So for me personally, it was worth getting.
Thanks for feedback. I believe I may like the ability to change firmness as well. Was planning a 2.0 TS but for few more $$ going this route. Looks like you ran 2.0 non TS. For a while and was wondering how it compared. Thanks again

Moved the latches on a set of JK tube doors to make them fit on the JL.

These are made by Warrior Products. The fronts took very little modification to work: just needed to move the latch back a 1/4” to hit the strike properly.
The rear doors took more work since the strike is a few inches higher on the JL than on the JK. I swapped the hinges from the opposite side, then cut off the mounting plates for the latches and welded a couple new ones on there and made the new cut outs for the latch assembly.
Tools used were angle grinder, jig saw, and welder.
Just need to stitch up some retaining straps and these things are golden.

Went back and decided to pay homage to the Rubicon by leaving a little “mountain” on the drivers side red...

I used 80 mil noiko black on the floors in the front because they are black and in case any showed above the carpet line, I didn't want silver to be visible. In the rest of the jeep I used the 80 mil silver kilmat. Between the deadened floors and the hotheads with the added noise suppression strips (which are basically unmarked kilmat strips), the jeep is very quiet. The only noise I get now is from the seal on the doors, but it is minimal. Once I use the kilmat in the doors, they will be quieter as well. Definitely worth it in my opinion.

Great, I’ll order some.
Thanks for getting back to me
