Just finished swapping out the 2.5" dash and sound bar speakers with the 77KICK25AB Mopar/Kicker speakers, for a nice improvement to my base 7" inch sound system. No pics, as the install is very straightforward and has been covered in the electronics tech section. Now it's time to open my Sunrider and head out for a drive down to the beach.

I am more interested on how you get five gladiator wheels, did you buy two sets of takeoffs?
Bought a local set of 4. Found an Ebay seller parting out a wrecked gladiator. Purchased just 1 wheel. Funny because the set of 4 cost $100, and the single wheel on ebay cost me $100. Still not bad for $200 all in.

I added a sub to my base sound system (already have a powered subwoofer under the passenger seat). If you have have the base system (non-Alpine) and want to boost the power with an amp, there's a way to do it that will take about one hour to install at a cost of <$300. My system is plenty loud enough for doors off driving now...

The amp is the Alpine KTP-445U Power Pack (here's a link to it on Crutchfield Alpine KTP-445U Power Pack), and at $189, it's fairly inexpensive. This is by no means a huge amp, but it will give you 4 channels of 45w (which is more than double what the stock head unit puts out).

The KTP-445U is the amp Alpine puts in its PSS-23WRA upgrade system (which also includes upgraded front dash speakers, and a subwoofer... but at a $1299 price tag). The PSS includes a harness for hooking that amp up to a JL, so all you have to do is order the harness to make the amp install plug-n-play! Just connect a few plugs and voila! You don't even need to run a power line to the battery (per Alpine's instructions), because the radio circuit in the JL is 20 amps (so you just tie into the power feed for the radio, as shown in the picture.

Crutchfield doesn't sell the harness separately, but you can purchase it at pacparts.com (which sells replacement parts for the Alpine PSS system). Here are the two harness parts you'll need:
Alpine 820SVV90ZUD-PQKUQV Main Harness ($42.86)
Alpine 820SVV90ZUD-WKUQV T-Harness ($42.86)

One note- if you have already installed a powered subwoofer (like I had), and you grabbed your feed from the rear speakers, you'll want to grab the feed before the amp (which is easy to do- just splice into the harness as it enters the amp). Reason is the amp gives you a few high-pass options, and you don't want to cut some of the signal to your sub.

Like many before me, I have finally taken the doors off for the first time, which once again made me say “in spite of having had better vehicles through the years, this is THE BEST AND MOST FUN”

After all these years of leaving the doors against the wall with my jk and now my JL I finally installed my door hangers that have been on the shelf for a LONG time

Got another one for you to do if you want to drive on over. Although our governor requires anyone coming here from Colorado to self quarantine for 14 days.

So...these little frickin birds have been crappin all over the cars in the neighborhood and pecking at the mirrors. The nextdoor neighbor has a car that's pretty new and one of these damn birds chipped the mirror. Mine are getting scratched up. Everyone is folding in their mirrors around here and some are covering them. These little pricks chase off dove and raid nests to drive other birds out. They make a loud screechy chirp and I'm tired of it. All the neighbors are tired of it. They are called House Wrens.

So, about half a bottle thru a great Napa Cab, it struck me: I needed a "scarecrow". Or in my case, a scare-wren. I figured, since we have a lot of red-tail hawks around here, that should work. Of course the internet was the first place to go. I saw the usual foam and plastic owls, and even a small foam hawk with its wings spread to look like it was flying. But I wanted something full size that would scare the bigger birds like crows away. They crap all over our cars too.

Another half a bottle of cab and I had an idea to cut out a hawk from a sheet of 1/4" door skin plywood that's been laying in garage for a few years. I drew the hawk up freehand from some web pix and cut it out yesterday. Later, my wife brought out her acrylics and painted it up.

Now I need to find a good place to hang it. If it works, I may make some more.
