What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Took the doors off today even though it is only 50 degrees, strong winds and down to 34 tonight. Couldn't wait any longer.

Same as in Ohio, except we were at 28 this morning. When we were all nice and warm out, I decided to plant my garden. Yeah, I know, we aren't supposed to plant actual plants until after Mother's Day, but I did Even covering the plants didn't help with that hard freeze.

Snowhio not much fun this spring..., we are going to go from winter to summer this year...

Lake effect snow (Lake Erie for those not Northeast Ohio) should not be in the May weather forecast. We are supposed to be enjoying baseball. On a related note, apparently, the Browns have volunteered to help with social distancing and decided not to participate in the playoffs this year too..... Not sure if that is funny or sad..., but had to repeat that gem....

Just in case anyone else has this issue, I finally figured out a good way to clean up the 7 slots. If you have gladiator grill then this is not as big an issue. We have crappy water at some of our car washes and it leaves white water spots if you don’t dry right away.

So I bought some cheap parts cleaning brushes from the local parts house. They’re very cheap, and probably cheaper at the harbor freight....... I just sprayed on some 303 and brushed it, came out like new...............

One step closer to my epic roadtrip coming up as soon as this plague is lifted and we are no longer confined... But, here it is:

For the past three days, I’ve been working on getting this setup together. The EZ Rack Kit Spare Tire Mount by Rock Slide Engineering coupled with the Rotopax 4 Gallon and 3 gallon fuel containers and the new Rototrax traction boards.

Slight complication #1: the Rotopax universal mounting plate has a lot holes but none of them lined up with the Rock Slide Engineering's wholes on the rack so I had to drill 4 holes to be able to mount the universal mount to the rack - no big deal but made the installation take longer for the making the wholes and painting it to prevent rust.

Slight complication #2: I have the 3 Gal extension added to the DLX Pack Mount from Rotopax so as to be able to mount the 4Gal gas container with the traction boards. Unfortunately, there is enough room for only 3 boards not 4 as I was told... So, we have to sort that out. But really not a big deal in the overall installation.

The little things... Took some .38 solid rubber tubing and ran it along the lengths of front and rear fender flare seams to keep out gravel and debris.

Tucked it under the inner fender flare at each end to keep it in place. Easy peasy.

Thanks! I looked into that while I was throwing it on. There’s room in there to sneak the wires out the back and pop the lights in. I should be good without pulling it off. Now the other bumper, the bruizer, from what I understand is impossible to get the lights on without pulling the bumper off.

Yea, I've got the Bruizer, lights mounted from the back. Didn't realize the Crawler lights pressed in from the front. Should be good!

Wow, that's kind of ridiculous that the holes didn't line up. Seems like it should have a disclaimer like "product doesn't work as advertised without modification"

How do you like the Rototrax? I think you're the forum guinea pig on those.

I had intentions to go out and do things today but since it is -20 outside (WHY!?!) I decided to put on the Hi-Lift hood mount and remove my Tuffy Security Lock Box from the tailgate in favor of an Outback Adventures tailgate table and a Lock'er Down center console security box, neither of which have arrived. yet.

Could you give a quick comparison between table/console vs tailgate lockbox?
What I really want is lockable tailgate box with slide out table, and a molle panel on the bottom...

Mounted up my Artec Aluminum Bellypan Skids!

I can honestly say this is one of the best engineered aftermarket Jeep products I’ve ever installed. Especially given the complexity of getting three large pieces to line up with existing holes, new holes, factory crossmembers, and a new crossmember. I was stunned that nothing had to be modified (or forced) to get everything to line up! Time to see how the aluminum holds up on the rocks...
