What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

I drilled the metal in the spare tire carrier out and added 2 studs to match the factory studs

OK so did you drill out the holes big for the base of bolt to easy in and out.

Finally got my Rigid Ignites hooked up. I followed @Rhinebeck01 instructions and several of you other Jeepers. Thank you

Man are they bright. I didn’t want them hanging down off the rear bumper so I mounted them on the spare tire carrier. Hooked up to Aux 3 and b/u wire (W/OG) on the 7 pin tow hook up. Used two diodes and it works great. Took most of the day, nothing else going on and I haven’t done automotive wiring since high school (that was a long time ago).

How does this work with the backup camera? Is it blinding or wash out the picture?

You can do it the easy way with the Dorman's or the harder way with the Dorman's.

Using the Dorman studs either way, makes the addition of the lugs, lets say safe.

I did it the easy way.. Maybe someday I will redo and do the harder way... 8-)

Turned on the heat in the barn & the tv to watch the Daytona 500 while I removed the "euro" splash guard thingies, removed the spare tire, holder, 3rd brake light and reverse camera. Going to look at making a plate to go over the vents in the tailgate which would also hold the camera & brake light.
Installed an AVS Aeroskin II #436148 hood protector.
Installed a Hellwig #7775 rear sway bar last night on the stiffer endlink setting. Going to go to the lower setting when I get a chance. Wicked oversteer. On my Camaro, oversteer was fun...not so on a JL.

Swapped out my reverse halogen bulbs for some LEDs. Definitely brighter. Still nowhere near as bright as my wife’s Subaru Forester, but better than before. Below are some comparison pics of my backup camera screen to show the difference.

Changed out the halogen fogs, fender and headlights. Added a new bumper and winch. Also painted the grille purple and black just to see how it would look

No, there's no lights in the hood protector. I guess you could put some lights in it if you wanted...but would probably be too much in the line of sight for the driver. Will get some pics followed up for a better idea of how it's designed.

EVO roof rack is on, CB radio is on, 35 shoes on. I think I will take it easy on mods for a couple of months now, we will see.

Nice! I have the same Rhino crossbars on my JL for my yak. I mounted mine back further though, not on the freedom panels. Just preference, but makes more sense for me, seeing my freedom panels are almost always out when the weather is warm in New England and that would be annoying not being able to take them off And u can easily stand on the rear wheels to access cargo...

I wanted to install them exactly how the instructions said so my gear doesn't end up all over the highway. We're taking a 6 hour (each way) trip to go snowboarding and I want to make sure my snowboard make's it. I don't need it for the summer, I want to get a trek top for it since I don't have a soft top for the first time in my life.
