Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
This is what happens when I am shopping for a set of 37s for my brother in-law to buy. I stumble upon some 40s........

Yesterday, I drove about 500 miles and picked up a used set of 40s on wheels for $700. Nice score on my end. They are for mall crawling for the most part as 40s and towing a camper for months on end don't go well together. The last time I had 40s, I only got 7 to 8 mpg towing the camper and there are places out west where I would only be able to drive from gas station to gas station as the range would be to short. With my current camper, I can still get about 11 mpg with 37s. When we travel and go off roading, I will put the 37s back on. For $700, it will help keep the miles off our traveling tires of 37s on bead locks.

So anyways, jumped in the truck, and headed out yesterday. I was on the road at 7 am and got back home about 430 pm. Five tires in 40x13.5r17 filled up the back of our Colorado ZR2.

This morning, I put them on the Jeep. I still need to put the 40 spare on the back....

When I was little I learned about tools by handing them to my dad when he worked on our cars at home. Good for you.
Same here and I learned a value lesson too. When adding onto the house, my dad asked my mom for a measurement once and she stated something and 1/3 inch. He went livid and wanted to know where she saw 1/3" on a tape measure. I quickly learned how to read a tape measure.

Replaced the vvt oil solenoid seal that was seeping, cleaned the engine bay a little bit, new Air filter and filled the tires back up to 34/35 psi since the cold weather is rolling in and has me down to 28

Yep in SoCal we are gonna experience a cold spell with temps in the high 50s…it’s gonna be brutal.

You’ve been through it with this…glad to hear things are headed in the right direction.
Well we've run into a bit of a complication. Jeep is still in the shop and they said they can't get the Rubi t-case to fit. They've tried 2 from different year JLs and either the splines won't line up or are too long. They are trying one more tomorrow and if that doesn't work I'm not sure where that leaves me. I'm not sure where my original t-case is at the moment as they said they had to take it in to exchange for the Rubi t-case. Hopefully they can get it back, put it back on and I can still hit the road Friday morning sans Rubi t-case. 🤞

same here. hands on is the only way. I try my best to teach her and let her try to do things with me. she loves using the impact gun. and wasn't a fan of the finishing nail gun. i just hope she can teach her BF (when she gets of that age) a thing or two
Good for you.
My daughter was never into working on cars, but I made sure she knew how to check the fluids under the hood and change a flat.
It paid off several times, once when her BF got a flat and she had to change it for him. Once when one of her friends got a flat and the cop that stopped to help could get the lug nuts loose. She showed him how to "step/stomp" on the lug handle. Another time, she thought the battery cables didn't look right. Snapped a pic and texted it to me and asked about it. Sure enough, she was right.

Keep up the good work Dad.

That’s amazing. This is exactly why I keep letting her get involved as much as possible. Will be swapping springs out in a week or so

Front springs have arrived. Waiting on rears and new adjustable rear track bar. Then it’s time to get to work installing everything and realigning the jeep

You cost me $40. Been wanting a set but never came across any I liked. Installed last night.
I installed these on my 18 JKUR before getting rid of it. Very good latches.

I feel like I’m watching a movie and routing for the underdog. Hopefully the storyline is possible triumph, then apparent tragedy…but plot twist…triumph!
