Do the "stock" inserts work fine with the XR package? Or did you order the 14" inserts? My wife ordered me the TLP with the "stock" inserts for Christmas, and I was planning on putting it together this weekend. I've got a 2022 JLUR-XR and could not get a response from TLP. Thanks!!!
Another Jeeper here with the exact same Top Lift Pro. If you're referring to the "black bar inserts" that @Grampy22 has towards the bottom of his pic that raise the Top Lift Pro itself, then no worries you should be good with stock setting. I don't have any inserts on mine and my JLUR-XR hard top can be taken off no problem with its factory 1.5in lift kit and 35in tires.

Other "inserts" that I also don't run lol.... are those two poles that stick out at the top and are parallel to the ground to help hold the hard top level once it's on the Pro Lift (because of the tops uneven weight distribution). My hard top stays up no problem so I never felt the need to have the peace of mind to install them. They also tend to get in the way when pulling in/out of your jeep with the roll bar. What you'll find out is there's a sweet spot to where it'll be hanging on the Pro Lift.

Over the weekend, I did a couple small projects. I replaced both batteries. The SS battery was toast, and so I replaced both batteries. O'Reilly's guy kept telling me I didn't need to replace both of them, but doing that much labor to get the SS battery out, I figured it was time to do both. Went with Optima Yellow Top for main battery, it worked good on my old TJ with lots of electrical accessories, so why change. :)

Also put in the windshield defrost deflectors made by a forum member. We'll see how they work, should help balance it all out with the "tube plugs" that I have had for a few years.

do you by chance have anymore info on the defrost deflectors and their intended purpose ? Thanks !

Got the Teraflex Alpha setup installed. Prior to, my tailgate would drop an eighth of an inch when I’d open it. My Tank beadlocks and 35” AT3W’s are heavy, so this was a much needed upgrade. I am blown away by how solid this thing feels ?

43 pages... https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/question-regarding-the-windsheld-defrost.15276/

The air for the defrost, at least in early JLs pretty much comes right up the middle and on days where you really need defrost action, the glass in front of the driver is last to get cleared. It was really bad. The panel plugs solved it 90% of the way, but recently a few forum members have made this cool diverter. I have not had the right weather conditions to test it out yet, but they look like they could help direct a bit more air where needed.

For locals, I do Aux battery replacements. I have done more then a few... I would never consider dismantling the PDC in order to replace an Aux battery. To risky to do that..

I usually ask the guy/gal that wants the Aux battery changed out, if they don't mind spending an extra $12 for fender flare clips that I break. I mention to them I can do the deed via a fender liner peel but even then, I have to charge them for plastic rivets.. Sure the plastic rivets are alot less expensive.

I go on to tell them that if I pull the flare and do the Aux battery change there will be absolutely no telltale signs I pulled the flare to do the Aux battery change. I tell them that if I cut and replace rivets that the replacement rivets if you look closely will not look as the factory rivets did. I give a guy or gal a choice as some, like me are a tad OCD.

With that said, I do either way. I know my dealership Tech friends would rather do the fender flare pull way versus the fender liner peel way.... but Stellantis will not reimburse for the pricier fender flare clips so they do the fender liner peel way.
Its a way, not denying it. But lets hold off on the "too risky" part. It is the defined standard way to replace the battery. Everyone is entitled to their position though, so I will acknowledge your way as a valid choice.

love those wheels, just placed an order for them today. Are those -15mm offset?
Yes sir, they do have a bit of poke but most of that will be covered by the XR flare extensions I am putting on, just an FYI.

I installed the sun visor reinforcements that I ordered last week. It only took about 15 minutes to install on both sun visors. It was a quick and easy fix.

Looks good Dennis. Do you happen to have a link to the reinforcement bracket you installed? Probably something everyone should do. Thanks!

My brackets are on order. Granted I bought the single vs the double so it doesnt tear up my visor and because I wasnt doing the manufacturer's job of trying to sand it down.

The brackets I used do not touch the visor.

I chose dismantling the PDC rather than pulling the fender off in order to replace an Aux battery. I found it rather simple. I took my time… less than an hour. No problems. For me pulling the fender and putting it back on, breaking clips, etc. was something I had no desire to do. It nice that we have choices.

Kind of a joke that Jeep put the Aux battery in that location as it will be something most of us have to do every 3-4 years.
