….. just in case my winch decided to go all “Christine” on me ……. I wired it to my auxiliary switch so there’s no power to my winch unless I push the button. Might be something for your bud to consider…….
I did the same thing, but with the Warn solenoid. I have the Quadratec winch. I got a recall notice about a similar problem. Requested to repairs, but they want you to uninstall the winch, return it, and hopefully you’ll have it back in a month. I quickly decided not to go through that hassle, since I only give it power when I want it.

This is exactly what forced my hand as well. My stealth winch has been working flawlessly, and I’ve used it more than most. Just because it falls in the confines of the recall doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to fail.

But I wanted to take every precaution, and I also like the idea with the solenoid just any shmo can’t turn on the power button on your winch.

Tilly got new shoes and a mild lift. Got Black Rhino Warlords in the matte gunmetal and Nitto RGs in 35 12.50 n a Teraflex 2.0 spacer lift. Loving it so far. What happens when you take your wife to Jeepfest and she gets Jeep envy. Lol.

Productive Saturday, got the RC front adjustable track bar, Bilstien 5100 3-4.5, and KC Pro6s on. Added like 3” of down travel with the Bilstiens.

I started installing my flat towing package that I had removed from my previous Wrangler. I got the base plates mounted today but still have some trim work to finish on the rock guard tomorrow.

Next project, run wiring harness and battery charge wire.
Next project after that, install brake system.

Love it! Bumper looks naked though! I did the same thing, thinking I could wait a while on the winch. That lasted literally less than 24 hours…. A winch was put on!!! :)
Winch is on the list. The top of the bumper will eventually get lights and the winch will be dropped lower so you still really won’t see it just the hook, etc. The plate cover will stay. Also have a light for the lower part of the bumper that will be recessed and the mock up for the lower skid but need to take in to get it cut, do my cuts, wiring, drilling, painting, etc. all the good stuff.

I’ll get there. When I find the right deal on one 😉

Text drove a 4xE at the Denver auto show. Very nice. Was different driving around and not hearing the engine at all. Liked the power but it wasn’t too crazy different from my 2.0T.

Also took out their limited 2500 Cummins Ram crew cab. Boy was that nice. Sooo many new features it was amazing. Did you know when it’s raining and the wipers are going, the brakes are pulsed to keep the rain off the rotor every so often? This was new to me. Never heard of a vehicle doing that. Not a huge feature but neat all the same.

Could always do this in the meantime.
