Rinsed out the frame rails yesterday and gave it a day to dry out.

Applied 3M cavity wax to the frame rails and 2 of the cross member supports under the Jeep. Can't buy SEM cavity wax in my area - it's labelled as "professional use only" so the shops only wholesale the stuff.

For anyone doing this, donā€™t wear a TShirt and shorts, it will get on you and it just feels weird when it dries on your skin šŸ˜†. Showered right after but noticed my legs were a little hydrophobic. Water beads right off.

And of course, wear a respirator - the stuff mists up pretty good and probably isn't the greatest to breathe in. Doesn't have a skull and crossbones but the safety sheet does list some nasty stuff.

Used about 1 and 1/3 of a can. 3M recommends 2 cans but I think thatā€™s for a truck. 3 coats as recommended.

Steersmarts Yeti XD front track bar to add when AEV 2.5 Dual Sport lift arrives.
this thing is beef. Steersmarts has its own forge here in USA. No third party or made in China steel here.

And most likely 2-1/2ā€ on the passenger side. Adjustable tracks bars will help that somewhat.
Was curious so I just went and checked. You nailed it. Roughly 1/2" lower on the passenger side.

Monsoon rains are going away for a few days so I got it naked for the first time. I'm bummed that the door holders from my JK won't work for the JL doors. Apparently the JL doors are thicker and I can only get 2 on the holder. Looks like next project is to build a new door holder. Also picked up a Smittybilt cab cover in case I get caught away from home in a rain shower.

Wanted under hood lights. Found Rough Country rock lights (4 pack) with good reviews, aluminum housing and bright, bought 2 sets.

Used the KC lights before on the 2013 but double the cost and didnā€™t feel as durable. RC gives you rubber backing plate (flat and curved) with quality wiring.

Only needed 2 for the engine compartment, used the other 6 for underneath.

Picked her up from being regeared to 5.13ā€™s. Initial heat cycles are done, 450 miles to go on break-in. I have full use of all 6 gears while on 39ā€™s. 6th gear is available around 55 when ground is flat, and everything works great on the interstate. Gear oil is standing by for when I hit 500. Crossing my fingers no whine develops.

I think whine would be there from the start if not done right. Sounds like you had a good installer.

I'm at abour 350 or 400 miles on my 4.56 gears and they are quiet as a church mouse.

What make of rings/pinions did you get?

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
Ordered $34k in parts that should arrive by June of 2022 without the Jeep even being built yet... I need to stop drinking
Basically ordered some tires and wheels. LOL. Probably 1 tons, and a long arm kit with King coil overs?????

Question about break in. Iā€™m going to regear to 4.56 on 35s (for now) and Iā€™ll be driving back from shop doing the work. Combo of highway and street. Itā€™s 300 miles about 7.5 hours. (Long story).
Iā€™ve never regeared so whatā€™s advice on break in?

LOL...Tires are stupid right now.

Yep - custom 60/80 dynatracs (74" wide, 40 spline front inner/outer shafts), RK long arm kit, and king coilovers w/ Rebel offroad brackets to give them a try. Will order Trail Ready beads when it gets closer (king coilovers are due in May).
