I commented on the R3 chip thread in the Cosmetic section - but question for you and/or others:

Is the chipping phenomenon on the hinges only for Sports or Rubicons WITHOUT the standard Mopar wide side steps like the Sahara? Esp if I stay on stock sized tires/offset, will this be an issue? I think the Sahara side steps should protect? Thoughts?
The sahara's enormous side steps will keep the rocks off. I haven't heard a single rock since putting on my rails, and they are significantly thinner.

Yup, Wade. Sticker peels right off.
Installed these this morning and 3 out of 4 has cracked upon rolling up the windows. :( Now I have cracked plastic in the doors.

Tracking Rockhard4x4 Sliders for JL via FedEx stop by stop - just one day away. Hothead liners arrived yesterday. Wrenching weekend with my boys on the plan.

sorry to hear that. mine were put on right out of the ups truck, without a problem. i even test fit them first & held them in place by rolling up the windows. to date they are firmly attached with "0" cracks or flexing.

Could you post a picture of the front windows for me please? Also mines didn't come with Wade branding on it. Only on the box.

2018-05-23 21.33.50.jpg mine didn't come in a packaged "box". they were wrapped in a foam type film, inside of the shipping box. (bulk pack style) nothing was "wade" except the little red sticker on each one.

Hmm. I guess I'll shell out some money for the weathertech ones since I've had good luck with those. Hopefully I can at least get a refund for these.

I have had a busy 2 days. Yesterday, I received my nerf bars finally. I had them on order for over 2 weeks, same issue as others, from Extreme Terrain, where they said they were available, but after my order, it said back ordered. Wasn’t pleased to say the least.

Then today, the wife and I installed my hardtop hoist. I of course had to take the top off after I got the hoist installed. I have a few kinks to work out yet, but once I have them fixed, should be great! I got the idea from the Harken hoist, but I pieced everything together myself.

More details on that hoist please! Looks super clean - was it cheap? I was looking at the Harken and that's not cheap, lol.

That’s what I figured. What steps did you say you have/put on? The Sahara ones?

And are there any Sahara owners that have chips on their hinges?

Weathertech ones aren't available yet. I keep checking because I want them too.

Got a new bumper from the Fleabay, thanks to some great advice from @jericbarg! It's for a JK but fit really well. I had to drill out the outer two holes a little, buy some LED fogs since my halogens wouldn't work, trim down the fog light surround a tiny bit but otherwise it went well. FedEx dropped it in my driveway, causing it to poke out of the box and dent the corner plus chip our pavers :(

I'll never need an LED bar but I hate those tabs and I'm afraid to get stuck so I think I'll grab a winch.

Well, in actuality, I got the idea from the Harken hoist. But being the person that I am, I didn’t want to pay the price for the Harken either. Having the mechanical aptitude that I do and having rigging experience, I built the system myself. I piece mealed pulleys, anchors, 550 paracord, made some straps from webbing and made some hooks. I may have $60-80 into the whole thing. I do have a few kinks to work out yet, but hope to have it fine tuned. I also integrated my own brake into the system, a little bit different from the Harken, it’s called a Prusik knot, that way, if the rope were to slip out of my hand, the whole thing doesn’t drop to the floor. Also, where the Harken was a 7:1 mechanical advantage, mine is only a 4:1, so a little more effort with my system.
