I did much worse damage to my rock rails the 1st time out. Me personally Iād just hit it with a little paint and move on. Lifeās to short to worry about the small stuff.haha thatās awesome.
since you both have these rock rails, what should I do about the damage?
I really donāt want to send them back because it took over a month to get.
should I ask for some money back and just paint the area black? Also will you see the damage once itās installed?
I have the other style, so Iām not sure how noticeable it will be. But I would take a picture and send it to LOD , tell them your not looking to send it back, could they suggest a diy fix, or help you out having it fixed.Got my LOD rock rails in!
Man what a PITA it was to take them out of the packaging and I still got a little damage!
Welcome... to the world of @lodoffroad . Packaging tighter than a wrapped mummy.Got my LOD rock rails in!

Damn that thing must be heavy..........Gave her a flat butt with a JEEP tramp stamp.
I understand where youāre coming from. Spending that much money and waiting that long you shouldnāt get a damaged product. But they are in fact rock sliders so.....make up a cool story and rock onGot my LOD rock rails in!

Love the look, I'd like to do the same. What was your process for removal? One side done... it took me an hour to get the factory decal adhesive off
None of those parts are heavy at all.Damn that thing must be heavy..........
I too removed my OEM decals, for replacement with custom work from Pixel Decals. One side done... it took me an hour to get the factory decal adhesive off
Fishing line first, a lot of heat & plastic razor blades & seems like 1/4 can of wd40... it was awful... took me 1-1/2 hours to get the glue off.Love the look, I'd like to do the same. What was your process for removal?
I've got the same LOD Destroyers. I've also chopped all the fenders, which visually opens up sight of that chipped corner. Still, it's tucked in so much that it wouldn't be easy to see when installed. Like Roky and others have suggested, spray it and enjoy them all the same.Got my LOD rock rails in!

The lower decal came off easy-peasy. It was the chrome badge that was a royal pain in the assI too removed my OEM decals, for replacement with custom work from Pixel Decals.
A quick pre-heat with a hair dryer allowed the originals to peel off easily, with no adhesive left behind. The job was done outside in a PA November, too. It's odd that you had issues with residue, esp. since you also used heat.
I've wondered how difficult those would be to get off. I guess the real question is are you glad you did it and would you do it again? And if the answer is yes do you want to come replace mine?Fishing line first, a lot of heat & plastic razor blades & seems like 1/4 can of wd40... it was awful... took me 1-1/2 hours to get the glue off.
I must not be heating it up enough...
Nice job! I was looking at the VOS compared to SPOD as there is a significant cost savings. Where are you grounding your accessories? I know the SPOD makes it easy as you ground inside the box, and I thought I read that the VOS you have to ground each to the vehicle. Thanks for the help.I see a lot of these get set up like yours. Might want to consider a little re-wiring to help with your cable management. Not 100% certain this is the intent of the slots, but really can't see any other reason they'd be there. I just put a little piece of heat shrink on the wire where it passes through the slot as an extra layer of abrasion protection, though there's been no indication it was necessary:
