What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Besides the size and off-road pages, any major difference? Shopping now and torn between whether the 7" will suffice or if I'll regret not getting the 8.4" (taking the Alpine out of the equation)

i routed this cable under the drivers side door trim and out the firewall. I tied in the power into my wench relay which is switched on Aux switch #3. The compressor purple wire goes to Aux #4 switch. What is nice about this is the air compressor is not powered all the time, I can just hit Aux #4 and the compressors cooling fan will just run only which will allow this compressor time to cool down after airing up.

Haven’t played with it much yet. Backup camera bigger screen, Apple CarPlay actually fills entire screen. I haven’t updated my tazer mini yet to allow offroad pages but plan to play around with it more. Not positive but seems to push a little more power to speakers, could just be hoping

Also - let me know if you decide 7”. Mine will be on market soon.

My JL watched while I hit the inside of my JK's frame with Fluid Film, as was done to it last weekend.

This stuff smells like sheep ass for a few days, but that old JK's frame looks like new inside. (And out.) I hit any rust spots on the outside with Rustoleum Rust Reformer and then the inside with Fluid Film using a 24" hose with 360 degree nozzle. Easy, but a little messy. Rubber gloves are a must. Anyway, on both Jeeps I also spray it up into body and suspension crannys and nooks. They can then handle all the road salt the road crews want to throw at them!

God willing, the JL looks this good after 13 years and 146k miles of winters and off road adventures!

I've been using Fluid Film since the 1980s. The lanolin scent does take some getting used to, but the service life, so to speak, of the lubricant is some of the best I've experienced.

Finally installed my rear bumper reflector LED lamps. Running them as taillamps. Brighter than pic indicates. PITA to do though. May start on my mirror LEDs next.

Moved my Powertank from my roll bar to mount on top of my Slipstream. With the mount on the roll bar, I couldn’t flip up my Slipstream when I wanted to. Now I can.

I also took a picture finally with my BajaDesign LP6s mounted. I have them wired up to come on with the aux switch, and then go into “high” mode if I hit the high beams on my regular headlights.

Looks good! Pair of LP6s is on my Xmas list. Your control/wiring setup sounds exactly what I’d like to do to avoid having to use multiple aux switches. Any tips/issues/regrets on the install?

It took a couple relays, making the wiring harnesses for the lights, and tapping one of the high beam wires, which was buried deep in a harness I had to cut open. I’ll find some time to write it all down.

Just got my “splurge” purchase from Black Friday installed in my wife’s JLU Sahara. A set of RockSlide Engineering step sliders..

Took a few pics to help with anyone else interested in how I personally did it.
I won’t post any portion of the bolting up process
It pretty straight forward
A strong impact gun
And a basic tool set with metric and Standard socket sizes are all that is needed.
As far as the wiring this is how I ran my cables and kept it tidy.

First I removed the two front seats,
The (4) Bolts that held the rear seat in, and the carpet.
The Cleaned the whole area with some Isopropyl Alcohol spray.(might as well)

Then I started at the battery.
Found an open space that provided 12V constant on the distribution center, Added an m6 nut and washer for the Positive.

Then connected the fused power wire provided in the kit.

Then I pulled the (5)10mm Nuts holding the plastic wire protector in place along the firewall in front of the hood vent. Then pulled apart all the plastic clips holding it shut.
Ran my wire through, replaced everything.

For the ground, I used a 10mm nut on the engine directly adjacent to the power wire.

Finished off the front with some Tesa Tape to keep up with factory appearances.

Moving into the the cab, I drilled a 3/8” hole in the plastic grommet located near the fender against the firewall, and routed my wire through.

From this point, I used a combination of zip-ties and Adhesive mounts to cleanly route the cables back.

Before moving pass the doors I followed the instructions on how to properly mount the magnetic sensors and Magnets. Finished off the wires again with Tesa tape.
(I repeated this process on the passenger side)

Here’s how I ran the sensor wire down the rear inner door

From that point I drilled Two more 3/8” holes per the instructions through the floor grommets closest to the rear doors, and routed the (4) wires through down to the underbody.
Two for the steps
Two for the optional light kit.
Then cleanly routed the wires to the provided PCB control board.

Used some 3m industrial strength double side tape to “mount” the PCM.
After I got everything tidied up inside, I put the interior back together and finished the exterior wiring by plugging in the steps and lights.
