Missing body mount bolt in my new Rubicon

Drivers side front. Found it while getting ready to install rock sliders......and no I didn’t break it trying to remove

The local dealers didn’t know how to fix it and had no experience with the issue. I had them order the bolt and bottom half of the mount.

It wasn’t that bad to fix. Built a jig to keep the drill centered and tried an extractor and heat, but no way it was coming out. Removed the rest of the bolt with a Dremel and a carbide burr because the extractor chewed the bolt out off center. Couldn’t save the original threads so I drilled and tapped it to 5/8. Grabbed a grade 8 bolt drilled and tapped in the lathe, and put a small shoulder on it. Then installed with some loctite. Better than new! Maybe this will help someone else

Got Stek paint protection film on 90% of the Jeep.

I’m planning on getting the Mopar lift installed in the next couple of week. I love how aggressive it looks.

will I lose the aggressive look with the lift?

It looks pretty damn good without the lift. Very nice!

any noticeable difference in steering feel?
I took it for a test drive around the block and it feels a little bit looser...I kinda like it. I'll drive around with it for a while to get a better feel for it, but I do like the Fox a little better... I just didn't like it hanging low.

I read some of the diff fluid threads and maybe I'm wrong but that's what others were using. I looked up the manual and I used the wrong fluid for the front

Are the rock sliders just as strong with the windows down, as they are when they're up?
Sure are. And more importantly my old ass can use them as a step!

Worked on the JLUD installing the the LoD destroyers, and had a major issue to overcome. There is a welded pin in the rear body mount on the diesel that is not on the regular JL. Made for a long afternoon with a mini cutting wheel to allow this to slide up in the mount.

Finally made it official and named my JL "Leviathan". Commemorated this by installing some @pixeldecals lettering on the hood. Reflective dark gray with a lighter gray outline. Super smooth install, just got take your time (only 1 slight mishap on my part as one of the letters got folded up on itself a little bit. Oh well, no big deal - I'll see if I keep it as-is or order another one to replace it).

Normal:

Wet shavers are going to think you're advertising Barrister and Mann's shave soap of the same name... It's always sold out.

Perhaps the vendor, and/or manufacturer, might appreciate being made aware of how the installation is compromised on the JLUDs. Just a thought.

Well done on working through it. :like:

My dash speakers came in today but the Metra speaker wire adapter is b/o. Oh well I guess I'll have to stare at the box.

Those exact speakers are due here today or tomorrow. :) My wiring adapters are on backorder, also. I ordered from Crutchfield via their Cyber Monday promotion.

I'm hoping for a cleaner midrange, if nothing else.

I just used a fair bit of toner printing the 17 page Master Sheet document, too. Crutchfield used to provide a hardcopy document (I've been buying from them since the 80s). They will still do so on request, but this isn't advertised. The customer has to know to ask for it. Just an FYI.
