What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Nothing major but got rid of the crazy looking antenna. Ordered rugged ridge sill protectors and RR trailer hitch assembly. Just a few mods for the new rig.

I have one similar, AM doesn't pick up as well with the long OEM one though. FM seems to be just fine.

I've been using my ARB compressor on my MORE mount for a while now and it has worked great but me being an engineer I have to make it perfect.

Items I didn't like:
1. Reaching all the way up inside the cargo area and then pushing sideways to attach quick connect got old.
2. Air hose got extremely hot after a few minutes.
3. Compressor cycled on and off numerous times the instance you put a load on it and removed the load.
4. Got tired of opening rear door and flipping switch to turn it on.
5. Also got tired of realizing I need ignition on.
6. Every item I used on the compressor was always exposed to max pressure.
7. I didn't like all the water going into the tires.

Solutions:
1. Add an ARB remote quick connect and mount
2. Add a cooler.
3. Add a 5 gallon air tank.
4. Move ARB switch to rear next to remote mount.
5. Move the switch power over to straight from battery. I realized with my dual battery setup I could run compressor for 2 hours.
6. Add regulator.
7. Add cooler and separator (tank) with drain valve.

The real reason this project was so easy was because I have a cargo area rack. I bought the rack obviously for more storage space but the icing on the cake is the rack gives me a platform to mount stuff to. I also added a check valve on the inlet to the tank so if the compress or the cooler has a small leak, the tank will stay at pressure. I also added a relief valve, drain valve and pressure gauge to tank. The air cooler is a Derale unit. I modeled the setup and 80% of the water is removed and the air temp is only a couple degrees above ambient vs 200-300F. I also did an aluminum tank so I wouldn't have to worry about rust inside. If I don't drain it but once a year I'm fine.

What did you use for paint?
I wanted a flat black with a high temperature rating, so I used VHT Wheel Paint from Autozone. It will be easy to touch it up with some quick sprays. I took them off road on a rocky trail this weekend, and there was no chipping.

I saw someone used Dupli-Color Bed Armor on his Road Armor liners, and I bought some. I started to spray it, and I immediately hated it. It had way too much texture, so I quickly stripped it and got the VHT paint.

First I dropped my credit card down into the space between the e-brake and the boot.

Then I wondered why Jeep put full boots around the gear shift and transfer case shifter but not the e-brake.

Then I tore apart half the console to get the credit card back, peppered by much cursing and topped off with a cherry by realizing I broke the tabs off the e-brake boot

I think the bare aluminum bumper will look great with the Bikini, as well. Next Venture Motorsports just recently started making aluminum bumpers and armor.
Ordered one of their aluminum front bumpers today after a quick chat with them. Good peeps. I like the pics of Kevin and Brittany’s Jeep with it.

Mm. I read similar articles a few weeks ago. "Salt Life" is not a good look right now.
Exactly. I just didn't want the guy to have bad juju on his ride.
