Yup, hood lift struts are a terrific addition to the JL... You will enjoy them!

By the way,

For the struts (any brand) to self lubricate, you install the struts the opposite way of what you have them. Installed as you have them, they will not self lubricate and that is not good..

Also, it does not appear that your installed hood lift offering, has quick release disconnects on the struts. 8-(

You might want to consider adding quick release disconnects.. No quick release disconnects means you or your mechanic will have to pry off the strut connectors each time you want to flip back the hood so you can get in there and work. After a few pries off, the connectors usually become unusable/ broken.

You can buy top notch, quality, quick release disconnects that will probably work with your struts. Go here:

Bought this crazy impact wrench to take with me on trails, just in case of reasons...
And also got my AJT fob case in.

Be careful with that bad boy - it will eat bolts if you are not cautious. My son (and therefore myself) learned this the hard way.

He then got a lesson in broken bolt extraction ;)

My son who works for the company grabbed me a new toy for my birthday recently.
These things are amazing.

Absolutely! I borrowed my brothers when doing my control arms. They need to be respected, but wow!, Did it make that job easy.

Just installed a new top. Got a great deal on a tan soft top (thanks, MMalone!) for use in the summer months. Planning to swap back to hard top for winter. I really dig the tan on Bikini combo more than I thought I would; reminds me of the beach.

Got it installed in a little over an hour, not too bad for a first time swapper.

Haha yeah it’s a slippery slope when going coil overs. Did you go with teraflex like you were planning? Not too many running their kit but I did look over the install instructions, dunno seems like a lot of jigsaw puzzles compared to rk or evo.
yeah it is haha, but i wouldnt change it, love the coilovers. Im actually going back to the place I never thought id go again, but I liked thier kit the best. I got the rk adventure x long arm 4 link front 3 link rear. The arms were the longest and the whole set up just seemed best for what I was looking for. Hopefully Im right lol.

My ADD installs every thing, my OCD then complains about it forever...
Lol. If anything is even the littlest off center I can tell. And I notice every single time i see it.
Which one is this?

Do you get any rattling?
here’s the one I got. Something basic for now to try out. If any issues then I’ll pony up more $ for a better one. But it seems very sturdy and no rattling so far.

Just an FYI for anyone with LOD destroyer rear bumpers....

The MetalCloak trailer plug mounting bracket fits perfectly with the LOD bumper.

You loose a tiny bit of departure angle; but you get a 1/4" steel skid so you are not going to be destroying the factory trailer mount and plug.

I've been through 1 of the factory mounts plus 2 of the plug assemblies due to being torn off the Jeep so hopefully no more.

It's a nice study piece.

Replaced OEM LED fogs with @Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro yellow fogs. Easy install - excellent product. .
