Repurposed an old bed frame into a frame for a hardtop hoist. This replaced a homemade wooden version that I used previously. Bought the Topsy brackets and I’m happy with the function. Costs were $45 for the Topsy brackets and rear lift straps, as well as a $30 harbor freight hand winch. Everything else I had around the house.

i thought about Red - wailting to see your resilts
I just finished mounting everything back up. It was dry as it was a hot day today and it sat outside for about 4 hours or more. Plenty dry to handle.

I’ll take pics tomorrow as it’s too dark for it to show up. I painted the rear hook a while back and it’s a different red so I’ll have to take that back off and paint it as well at some point.

If you have a chance to take a few photos with the headlights covered it would be interesting to see compared to the KC's I just installed. They look good.

One of the easier installs... but I think vital. My son and I put on a pair of Rancho diff-skids today.
(good father/son time too!)

Which step is that? Cost? How does it mount?
Rough Country DS2 drop step, bought on Amazon for $249 shipped. I wanted the Mopar Performance Rail step, but I couldn't see spend triple the $$$ due to the fact that I might lose my job in the next few weeks. Covid-19 sucks ass, especially living in NY. As for your questions, it mounts using two body mount bolts, one front and one rear, also uses 3 of the 4 pinch seam holes to mount. First attach it loosely, then you can tighten it up to the frame once its square and in place. Now for the bad, Customer Service was no help at all, the brackets were stamped wrong, driver was really passenger and vice versa, they told me to mount it anyway and it "might" work. Well it didn't, waste of time. Also, it was missing plastic retainers which help hold the mounting brackets to the step while getting assembled, not a big deal, just hard to get your hand in there to hold the bracket and tighten at the same time also missing lock washers, so 3 trips to Lowes and it was complete. All and all it was an easy install, seems to be a good product, it is solid step that works well where positioned, just the CS and instructions leave alot to be desired.
